What is the true racial/ethnic makeup of violent crime subjects?
Just curious, has anyone at MDPD ever bothered to do an analysis on violent crimes? For instance what is the racial/ethnic makeup of murderers, rapists and robbers for all cases filed in Miami Dade County in the last five years? What is the racial/makeup of all victims? Those would be interesting statistics.

If you watch the local news you will see a disproportionate amount of African American committing violent crimes. Robberies, murders are their crime of choice. On the other hand, Hispanics seem to be involved in fraud type cases such as medicare fraud, identity theft and gas theft. as well as narcotics. And if you read the paper, it seems that Anglos are more prone to be involved in white collar crimes and the usual monthly massacre.

"It’s true that around 13 per cent of Americans are black, according to the latest estimates from the US Census Bureau."
"And yes, according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, black offenders committed 52 per cent of homicides recorded in the data between 1980 and 2008."
But let us not be hasty, according to Patrick Worrall, this article author, blacks are not really responsible for their penchant for violent crimes. No, it is the economic deprivation they live in that is actually the culprit.

There are two distinct sides to Cuban migration to the U.S. The ones who came prior to 1980, mostly for political reasons. Those Cuban exiles for the most part became professionals and helped built this town into a metropolis. The post Mariel era though brought us hard core criminals and economic refugees. The later rafter Cubans and those who migrate here today on visas are for the most part the ones willing to take every benefits from our government and fly back to Cuba to flaunt their new found wealth.
Now as far as violent crime is concerned, I have no problem walking through any Cuban enclave in this county at any time of the day. If you value your life though you would not want to walk the streets of Overtown, Liberty City, Florida City, Miami Gardens, etc. So do the math and tell us which segment of our community is more prone to violence.
