Welcome to Miramar
Welcome to Miramar. The only department in the county that once you go into a specialized unit you are guaranteed a specialized unit for the rest of your career.
Recent events are Detective DS got tired of DB so he went to training. In my to realize a few months later that he doesn't like that spot anymore so he gets to go back to DB.
Now this created a new position in training....one that canine officer TE put in for. This is interesting because the department just bought a new dog for TE. TE has been having a very very hard time passing canine school, so he has been extended for several months. Despite the time TE has spent in this training and not available for real work, he now has been promised the new training position.
When will there ever be movement available in thjis agency for any new guys when every specialized assignment is tied up for 10-20 years or more on average?
This place is disgusting.

If You think this place has opportunities for advancement seek employment elsewhere. This place sucks just collect your check and go home to your family this place has no idea of what real police work is.

Lack of movement can be frustrating, but don't blame TE or DS. They're doing whats best for themselves. TE passed K9 school quite some time ago, but has been on light duty. My understanding was that his decision to move was family related. You can' fault anyone for doing what they believe to be best for their family.
DS was needed in DB and has a lot of experience being a homicide detective. Don't blame those guys for the moving. Your facts were off. If you want immediate movement, go to BSO, or Miami Dade.
