Finally!
Thank you Governor Scott for finally fixing our problems with pay! Those of us who have stayed and remained hopeful are thankful to you and Col Spaulding working on this.

$30 Million Dollars for state agencies
Says it all. $30 million isn't enough to go around the state LEO's. It will just make everyone mad about pay compression.
Some might say he's only doing it to gain support for the upcoming senate seat and election.

According to the 2017 2018 budget request 17 million is needed to raise starting pay to 42000 and create an "experience based incremental pay plan". I don't think the money will be distributed evenly like that it should be based upon agency size, we would get the largest slice.

Troopers will continue to leave in droves unless FHP steps up and tackles the turnover. Why bother training new troopers if they're just going to leave after 2 years for higher paying agencies? Simply a huge waste to the taxpayers money.
Do the taxpayers a favor, close the academy and start hiring only certified LEO's from local police academies.

Raising the starting pay has always meant bumping up the rest of the FHP. The Governor, Colonel and Executive Director understand how this works. Ticking off the senior troops is not what is intended or wanted. Instead of complaining and spreading rumors ask someone in authority.
