Gloats is now getting his friends hired.
I think the Mayor needs to rethink hiring this new Captain. Google his name and read how his own people felt about him. A resume filled with words doesn’t mean anything if you lack leadership skills.

I think it kinda fishy that the Chief failed to mention in the new Captain’s biography that he was a Police Chief in a 12 man department in which he is being sued for discrimination and was basically fired from it. Educate yourself people. Chief Gloats is looking to fill the Command staff with more liberal yes men. Mayor please step in or this place will be worse than it is now.

Mr. Boyce, who also commanded Detectives in the Bronx as well as the Gang Division, replaced Phil T. Pulaski. Mr. Pulaski was widely disliked in the Detective Bureau for increasing paperwork requirements until they took up fully 25 percent of a Detective’s shift. He was also criticized for eliminating Detectives’ discretion, distributing checklists for investigating crime and requiring that every offense be looked at by precinct detective squads, including those previously handled by anti-crime or conditions units.
His foes in the department said the last Police Commissioner, Raymond W. Kelly, was impressed by Mr. Pulaski’s sharp mind. He has earned degrees in both engineering and law, and his commands included Manhattan Detectives and the Joint NYPD-FBI Terrorism Task Force.
But the critics said he lacked street smarts and an ability to get along with people. “The smartest man in the department, ask him yourself he'll tell you it’s all true,” said a commenter
We are facing hard times on Miami Beach with crime that is out of control. The last thing we need is a leader that lacks street smarts because he spent his whole career just like Gloats behind a desk supervising and getting Law degrees while getting paid by NYPD. We do not need another Command staff member that does not understand the road and what needs to be done to help solve all of the crime on Miami Beach. More outta touch politicians is the last thing we need. Why do we feel the need to continue to go outside of the Department to find people to fix this Department and the Cities issues. How come we are not giving our own people a chance to be part of the solutions to our problems we are facing on the Beach and within the department. No More Gloats, Wendy’s, And Hills... promote from within and give the people that have dedicated their lives to this department a chance.

Dear fellow boys and girls, who gives a flying S%$T! Make your money, don't do crap but answer your calls, go home to your families, collect your pension and let this place implode. The old days of pride in this agency are over. MBPD has become nothing more than a business venture for Chiefs or a stepping stone for politicians. Our Chief is the laughing stock of Dade County Chiefs. Ask anyone from Miami Dade what Director Perez thinks of Oates.
