The Ethics Committee Should Visit HCSO

The Ethics Committee would have a field day with the corruption, lies, bullying and false Internal Affairs Investigations that go on day to day at our office. So tired of the same BS everyday, our new staff has been running this place the last 4 years! Time to wake up and come together to save this office. How many times do we hear from the administration “if you don’t like it leave, we will get someone else to take your place”. Uhhhh NO, we can’t even hire a full recruit class! Shame on Sheriff G for being absent for the last 6 years allowing this to crap to happen! The next supervisor or member of the snitch squad that threatens me or my comrades they will be hearing from my lawyers, social media and national media! Why not local media? They have been bought and paid for if you haven’t noticed! Sad when you are looking for another career at 18 years of service to save your marriage, family and health due to stress from this place!

    YES!!!!

But...I can't recall the last time I was able to be proactive due to NONSTOP call, after call, after call, after call, after call, after call, after call, after call, after. And, as far as taking time on calls... EVERY SINGLE call that we go on now REQUIRES an exorbitant amount of time for us to complete all the responsibilities that the office has forced upon us.

But, YES to everything else you typed.

Take your time on EVERYTHING, in order to do a thorough and complete job. Perfection is required.

Read every single world, of every single email the office demands deputies read. Be sure to pull up every report that each email references, and read every word of those reports. Be sure to cross reference every other report mentioned in each of those emails and original reports, and cross reference every other call involved in each and every other related email.

Be sure to obey every traffic law, on the way to every call. Come to a complete stop at each stop sign, and before turning right on red. Also, s.o.p. REQUIRES you to look for a safe space to pull over before you read the updates that you receive on each call. After finding a safe space to pull over, scan your surroundings to make sure you are not about to be ambushed.

After this, and after reading the update to the call, wait until all traffic is gone before you pull back out into traffic. Traffic is very heavy now-a-days so this might take a few minutes. If you're not sure if that car coming is traveling too fast for you to merge into its lane, wait, wait, wait until you are certain you can safely merge into traffic (the discipline for being at fault in a fender bender is sever).

Then, when you get the next update of the same call, repeat the above safety procedure. And, do this for every single update that you get for your call. Remember you are REQUIRED to do this by s.o.p.

These are just a couple of ways deputies need to start being more careful. There are several other ways, so feel free to add your suggestions of how deputies can be more thorough in their jobs, and create a safer work environment.

Some of the IA detectives need to investigated by FDLE for falsifying cases. I know of two cases where the complainant lied and the IA detectives did nothing to look into it. Sad isnt it when you go down there and you already know the outcome. Aint that right Danny boy.

This could be the way to go. Only we can push back for a change. The problem is that we are so short handed and buried in reactive calls that we already only take critical calls while everything else just holds for hours. We are already slowed down by bureaucracy, CYA paper, and politics that we do nothing proactive. Yet, we are all burning out. It is beyond inefficient. No ethics committee will come and no media. This place is run by politicians. They ride their easy big money and benefits rides, while the guys on the front lines take all the falls, discipline, and are made examples of. To buffer and hide what goes on up high. This agency is all a show. If there was some kind of inquiry, the agency will spin it around and fudge the numbers. Why such an influx with homeless, addicts, and criminals in our areas?? Has the brass spoken to just one criminal that just moved here from another area and asked them why? No, but we sure have and many say the same thing. The courts are lenient, the cops are no where to be found, and if they show up in time, they are too burned out or scared to do anything about anything. How else can you explain burglars that walk around in plain sight and blatantly break into car after car on the same streets over and over day after day with no deputy in sight? Deputies are buried in domestics, shoplifting, crashes, and other paper calls. Most arrests are freebee arrests like warrants, domestics, and ship liftings. Not major police work. We need more people out here to deter and prevent. We have a bad reputation for never being around and showing up late. Its a joke. Fix our core problems and stop wasting your time with redesigning our uniforms and what the decals on our cars should be. Cut out all the BS. Give CPID back to DCF, lets stop doing the job of animal control, FHP, and other agencies. Time to start saying no to other ageniecs and time to start listening to your front lines.
