"Steve" (THE Sheriff) runs the main law enforcement agency in the county do you really think hes speaking to you and every other moron that attacks him here? No and no one has ever said they were "Steve", it is his supporters fighting to protect his name and the destiny of the department which protects the county. You want crime and rapes and murders all over? Without "Steve" the county would be worse than Mexico with murders and crime. He is in his 3rd term for a reason because hes got ability and ideas. You and every other POS here cant handle it. His supporters brag for him because he doesnt have to brag - its all true. Hes going to beat this crap case which was extended to persecute him and those horrible neglecing parents should be charged for endangering a child letting a waif walk the roadway, clearly in mockery of the pedestrian statutes which were provided in a different post.

His wealth and checking account balance... Where does such a public servant acquire such wealth since you brought it up? From a chronically overdrawn slick sleeze with mounds of debt to a wealthy near millionare magnate overnight on a barely six figure income. Interesting. Sounds like a far more interesting story than the meaningless threats and redundant insults that obsessive finger sniffing freak spends her days coming up with. Tell us more about how that American success story happened. We understand if you'd rather not, feds can be really mean. Poor little victimized Queen. Is that respectful enough your Highness?

A "barely" six figure salary, lol! "Barely". How many years at over 100k? How many figures is your salary. He pays more in taxes than you earn. Just because you are clearly too stupid to get ahead, you wouldnt know what to do with the "barely 6 figure income", except buy a new truck and go on a rent to own spree at terms even a ****roach could refuse. Talk about the "feds" all you want...go ahead and spread the innuendo, youre the jerk who cant read that it is an SAO state case proof that its a weak frame case, the "feds" US Attorney wouldnt go near this. You cant except that hes got money from his career, college paid off, started out low, and went all the way, you started low and probably got fired along the way and you got a grudge. Lol!

Has anyone scrutinized which way the child pedestrian was walking when struck?
Where sidewalks are not provided, a pedestrian walking along and upon a highway shall, when practicable, walk only on the shoulder on the left side of the roadway in relation to the pedestrian's direction of travel, facing traffic which may approach from the opposite direction [§316.130(4)].
Which way was she facing. She stepped out enough to get brished with the mirror. Had she been walking/facing traffic "on the left side of the roadway in relation to the pedestrians direction of travel" - she would have seen the traffic.
Thankfully the poor waif wasnt injured. Its called "contributing to her own accident".
Ask the child "would have you steped in front of the truck had you saw it?" If she answers "no", that proves she didnt see the truck - and why didnt she see the truck? She was not facing how she should have. If she answers "yes", there you go too.
Had her parent(s) been properly watching her, this wouldn't have happened. They should be charged, shouldnt they?

At fault for what? The driver (perjoratively labeled "felon" and other judgemental labels by some), when stopped by the deputy, was understandably in state of anxiety pending his self surrender to the government to begin service of his sentence for his participation in a non-violent white collar crime that is almost the same level of tax evasion (something many people actually do when they fail to disclose extra cash, working a private detail etc). The statement should have been taken when the driver had time to compoase himself. All are victims here, no blame, just releif that no one was hurt worse - through their own mistakes

At fault for the crash. I guess hcso should start asking if the person is suffering from any anxiety when reading Miranda. People have blamed the girl but not the adult driver who drove away. What if she would have fell in the ditch and died? Would people care more.

fix the responsibility for the unfortunate series of event - not blame
This is serious and youre making facetious remarks to gain popularity because you have no logic, NO ONE is blaming the girl - she is the victim of her lack of parental responsibility and supervision - the parent(s) should have been with the child on the side of that busy road.
Because you would allow your child to walk unattended on the wrong side of the road, doesnt mean the rest of us would. Its disgraceful your facetious comments about "what if she died" - you would probably be celebrating since such a horror would serve your agenda, wouldnt it.
The driver did nothing wrong, the deputy did right, the child was a victim of her parent(s) too indifferent and lackadaisical to take the effort to get off tghe couch in the morning and attend to a child, instead just let her walk out the front door no problem. The parents are responsible and should be ashamed playing the victim card. The should have a lawyer, for they should be investigated for what type of home lets a little girl walk out alone in the morning to a busy road, where she was walking the wrong way (again, responsibility of the parents) Dont try to use "blame" here, false victims look to "blame", the right people should accept responsibility for their role in the child walking into existing traffic.
