Some of the older ones should be in the personnel files prior to a certain date that is where they were.

Who cares who is requesting them and why they are requesting them. It's all public record and these SOB's are all of the boobs that are in the knightmare's inner circle and/or command staff

I'll tell you who I am and why later. But I have pulled some jackets over the past 6 months and there are a lot of IA entries missing. I need these files. Also anything else of significance would be greatly appreciated.

Retention laws (external state statutes) and general orders (internal rules) govern exactly what IA paperwork needs to be retained – and when it can be disposed.

Thumbs up Are IA files of Knight's appointed inner circle missing?

Would anyone be surprised if "select" IA files of Knight's inner circle turned up missing? Like corroborating statements of key witnesses? Nope!

Is anyone surprised that it is illegal for anyone inside the Sarasota Sheriff's Office to initiate an IA investigation on or about the current elected sheriff (Tom Knight)? Nope!

Welcome Sarasota County law enforcement, where it's done Old Florida style by mixing politics AND revenge together i.e. in your face.

Colonel Terry Lewis conducted that investigation, but it is unknown if the paperwork documenting the investigation was destroyed or not. It included Captain John Walsh's 45 suspension for lying under oath.

Speaking abouit "colonels"... Colonel Kurt Hoffman also has a documented history, but you'll have to check the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office to see if they destroyed all records documenting his thefts. Here's a news link:

He was a major, which is a high enough rank to erase or destroy any and all internal dirt, so it may be hard for you to find paperwork on him, unless someone intentionally kept a copy of the dirt.

The higher up you go in the agency, the harder it is to find documentation of past "moral character incidents" e.g. Kurt Hoffman, Kevin McElyea, John Walsh (with his key witness Mark Macale) and others.

Correct. That is why I am asking in this manner. I cannot fine Walsh IA, Kevin Gooding shooting IA on Bahia Vista or M E R C U R I O IA from the federal court issue. I have made several requests over the past year in an attempt to get these documents for something in the works about the Sarasota S/O. I was hoping that someone over the years got ahold of them and stored them away somewhere. I Was informed by a source last year that your old Colonel Dunklay destroyed several IA's from his peers jackets. I have not had any luck ducking certain things that I was told should be there. Thanks for all of your replies and help.

Our colonels (aka chief deputies) have a colorful history:

    1. KURT HOFFMAN - current colonel - failed lie detector about stealing from multiple victims - worst offense IMO was stealing as a reserve deputy at charlotte county sheriff's office:
    https://www.scribd.com/document/3224...t-Hoffman-News

    2. STEVE BURN$ - our last colonel - Here is an explanation of the SAO battery paperwork against Colonel Steve BURN$ (retired). I cannot speak for the original poster, but I am familiar with the documented criminal history of BURN$ (retired). The link to the SAO paperwork is from a battery case where Steve BURN$ battered the father of a teenage girl that he was dating (and not the girl herself).

    Explanation:

Steve BURN$ was a lot older than the girl he was dating and she still lived at home with her parents. When Steve knocked on the front door, her father answered. Her father was horrified that a man in his 30s (BURN$) was dating his teenage daughter, so the father told Steve to "get lost" and "get off my property." That pissed off Steve, so a fight ensued. Steve got in the father's face and chest butted him and then grabbed him and threw him down onto the ground and into the bushes that were adjacent to the front door. The lieutenant was called to the scene and Steve was kicked out of the detective bureau and was sent to night shift patrol. The Sarasota Sheriff's Office was going to fire Steve, if the SAO prosecuted him, which is why the writing on the SAO battery report is so important. The SAO paperwork (here) has written on it:

"This [nolle prose] action is taken without prejudice to the right of the State of Florida to resume prosecution on this matter in the future."

After the statute of limitations expired, Steve breathed a sign of relief.

The rumors and allegations of "woman beating" were in reference to a completely different incident involving Steve's former wife, but they never made it to court and no paperwork was generated (to my knowledge).

    3. LARRY DUNKLEE (the colonel before that)
    http://www.heraldtribune.com/article.../605220951/SH/

The above are just the colonels! That's not even including all of Knight's other "special" command staff appointees! Bybee looks like a choir boy compared to the command staff!
