We don't have the people to work our state much less anywhere else. For example: Tues Oct 10 pm shift Pensacola / Escambia County was holding over twenty (20) crashes and there was one trooper working.

Most every night wrecks hold for hours and most people give up in disgust and go home.

The Patrols reputation for being service oriented is going by the wayside.

It's a shame no one in command seems to care.

Command just wants their check. ED doesn't want to hear it. Governor doesn't care - he only acts like he does right now because he will need votes again soon when he runs for Sentate.

Col and ED (two birds in a tree) know they would be fired faster than a New York minute if they ever went to the capital and openly told the truth in some of those meetings about our manpower or other FHP situations. I mean instead of sugar coating the crap and making it sound like we are getting by okay.

If they told legislators, cabinet or the Governor how bad our manpower, response times, etc. actually is, and how we suck at serving the citizens, the Gov would say "we should look into that" and there would be a new Col and ED soon after. Nothing else would change.

I believe it's sad and wrong to cancel the deployment of FHP Troopers to Puerto Rico, especially when there are Police and Fire departments from all over our nation deploying personnel to the island to assist our brothers and sisters there. It clearly sends the wrong message. After more than 20 days without power and many of the roads still blocked, I'm sure they will appreciate all the help we can provide to them.
