Largo just fired a guy for working a half day and then going home to the day of the storm to take care of his home and wife. What's Bob going to do with the 8?

Are you going to hire the individuals in the National Guard that chose to stay home when they were activated or all the individuals in other branches of military who chose to stay home instead of reporting to their post? Oh, Never-mind. They knew what they signed up for and did what they were supposed to do when told kind of like all LEOs are supposed to do because they were told basically the same thing when they signed up and took the oath.

Trolls are so anoying.
Your job description as a grease sniffer and poo-scraper at Burger King doesn't have a section stating that in the case of an emergency you could be called in for mandatory duty, Military Branches' and LEOs' including other emergency services have that clause in their job descriptions and included in GOs.
Burger King + Hurricane - Employees = No fries or burgers.
National Guard, LEO, EMS, Fire, Coast Guard, Etc + Hurricane - Employees = Death, looting / lawlessness, injury, chaos, no evacuations and the list goes on while the lights go out.
Now get back to your poo-scraping troll.

Serving in a combat zone and being ordered into battle and refusing to go will get you court martialed and if there was a riot and the streets were being overrun with criminals that's one thing. However being in a building until winds calm down to under 45 mph is another. Don't compare what you call a case of emergency to combat or military duties. Hiding in a Cat 5 building, guarding a broken traffic light, having electricity pump in by disel generators equals wimp. Now go back to hiding. These people tried to protect their families and wil be written up or fired.

They were ordered to report for duty, they were ordered to assist in evacuation, they were ordered to do their duties. When the wind got too high and it was determined that it was too dangerous they were ordered to come in. When it was determined that it was safe enough to continue doing their duty they were ordered out again.
What part of "ordered" do you not understand? What part of it stating in the GOs "in a case of an emergency LEOs can be called in to work" don't you understand(they where supposed to understand that when they signed up to become a LEO and took the oath). LEOs' orders relate directly with military orders because LEOs are paramilitary. Most LEOs hired are ex-military, retired, honorable discharge, etc so they know what orders are. Individuals in the military get court marshaled for disobeying direct orders, LEOs get written up. Your argument has just been shot down again, now move on troll.
What is BS in my opinion is that even the members that were off are getting paid the same amount(according to their pay scale) as the ones who came in and actually worked the storm. That's something to complain about! They protected their families which is great but they didn't do a damn thing for the agency or other civilians while others had to come in, work it and some volunteered for the extra duty but the ones who stayed home and weren't ordered to come in are still getting paid like they were working. That's a much better argument than your BS about eight members that decided to buck the system because no matter what happens in AI they will probably still get paid for that time.
