If IUPA gets DOD it would be a separate local but the same attorney would probably be negotiating the contract. Here is where Bell is involved. He is supposed to get extra money from IUPA if he helps organize and as stated he has big plans to be on the international board so we would want to take credit for bringing on DOD. Plain and simple....WHEN IS THE FREAKIN ELECTION? Bell had to been voted in before IUPA was the bargaining unit. The presidents term should be like 3 years. Man you FOPE guys need to seriously use google before posting. NO IUPA member gets paid by the International. End of story. If DOD switches to IUPA, nobody would receive a penny extra for their involvement. FOPE and PBA both pay their full time release people extra money but IUPA does not. Do your research first !!!!

The FOPE can't even get a simple name correct. Jeff Edmitson is running the PERC drive not Jeff Bell. Maybe if the FOPE leadership could read, they would even see the name Edmitson of the literature. And these are the same people negotiating a contract for 2500 people????

PBA and FOPE you are just like the National Progressive Democratic Party, you just throw shit against the wall and hope that you get everyone muddy. Also like the DNC you have no platform, no original ideas and only care about being in power. I dare you to find one large union that has annual elections. That would be ridiculous, every time a new President comes in it takes a few months to get everything in place and get a feel for and build relationships with management that can lead to better salary, benefits and possibly save a job. Unfortunately the PBA and FOPE boards care more for what the membership can do for them then what they can do for the membership. This is why the PBA is gone from BSO and FOPE will soon follow.

Every deputy working at he Main Jail knows that Manfreth Neilly is working behind the scenes with Jeff Bell and Jeff Edmiston to take over the detention union. Before you make accusation and accuse anyone of being stupid you should check your own spelling. It"s Edmiston not Edmitson. It appears you have a touch of dyslexia.

WRONG!!! Jeff Bell did not organize this nor does Bell have an interest in this! Pay close attention...With IUPA the DOD sworn Deputies will be chartered your own union (local). All non-sworn employees (civilians) will be charted with their own union (local). IUPA will be separating all sworn officers for non-sworn officers(civilinas) into their own respective unions. Now this is the important part... IUPA has the following unions (locals):
1. Broward Sheriffs Deputies Local 6020 with President Jeff Bell
2. Broward Sheriff's Office Professional Association Local 6030 with President Patrice Taylor
3. Broward Sheriff's Office Professional Supervisors Association Local 6030 with President Joeseph Paduano

All of the above locals have additional executive board members. At no time does any board dictate to another board how to run their local or what to do!!

Well it didn't take long for Jeff Bell to become a self-serving power-hungry Union President. I've just confirmed that Jeff Bell is Slithering around behind the scenes actively working to take over the Detention Union. One president running both the DLE and DOD Unions would be a clear conflict of interest. Remember the Sheriff only has a finite amount of money in his budget for raises and benefits. Every contract negotiation DLE fights to improve its standing regarding being the highest paid Law Enforcement agency in the Tri-County area and DOD fights for parody with DLE. Ask yourself, how could Jeff fight both fights when DLE and DOD's interests are so diametrically opposed. Remember Jeff has only been a union president a short time and has limited experience. He should be focusing all of his attention on our bargaining unit contract, member defense, Etc., Not Empire Building. One person running both unions is a bad idea for DLE and DOD. The only ones who benefit from this move is IUPA $$$ and Jeff Bell scoring brownie points with IUPA. For the first few months he was pretty humble but the monster got him. He makes people think he has done it all. You never see any mention of the rest of the board or all the IUPA professional staff. Having the IUPA professional staff, a twit could have made leaps and bonds over the shitty ass PBA. His britches have gotten so big he thinks he is going to the international board and plans never to do law enforcement work again. He has gotten too much from the admin and the union, the lucky loser really thinks he is some wonder leader now. Jeff Bell is selling DLE out for his own personal gain. Every member of IUPA 6020 needs to call or email Jeff Bell and tell him to stop Empire Building.We do not want detention deputies in our union. He needs put DLE's interests first. He needs to put his full attention on our contract negotiations. He needs to immediately abandon his effort to takeover the DOD union. If not then maybe it's time hold an election for a new Union President.
