Don't answer her trick question. Just lay low and stay out of Knight's rotisserie. Stay safe.

In the old days, ALL supervisors showed open respect in the presence of subordinates for the elected sheriff, regardless of who he was. Today, many supervisors roll their eyes to the back of their heads when his name comes up. And many supervisors make clever smart ass comments about him. Times have changed!

I have seen this to be true. There are several staff members who just tell us to hang in there and this too shall pass. You can see their unhappiness in their expressions when talking about the Sheriff. He does not realize his own cabinet thinks he is inept. Sad really.

Sadly, those are words of experience and wisdom. Unfortunately, they do not resolve institutionalized in-house problems:

    • We currently have an inept sHaRiFfEe who is extremely conceited and who thinks extraordinarily highly of himself, even in the face of reality, which is elusive for him.
    • He has publicly tarnished the reputation of the agency (as a whole) by openly defying a legitimate court order from a Chief Judge. The appellate court decision should be publicized sometime soon.
    • But it is SSO employees who suffer the brunt of his inept behavior.

Seriously, how can anyone reasonably communicate with someone who is simultaneously conceited and inept? His conceit blinds him to the obvious. His conceit prevents him from seeing the elephant in the room, which everyone else is staring at in total disbelief.

People in civilian leadership positions who used to publicly love-on-him and who strongly supported him now loathe him i.e. Karen Rushing, Caroline Zucker, Charles Williams and many others who have experienced his obstinacy "up close and personal." What a change! Once they became familiar with his dirty tactics, they had nothing but contempt for him. Familiarity breeds contempt.

But even worse than all that: SSO supervisors openly mock him in front of subordinates because they are familiar with his dirty tricks. When supervisors openly mock him in front of subordinates, it's a very bad omen for the internal stability and efficiency of the agency - and it's personally harmful for SSO employees, especially those who have already accidentally strayed in his path (the historical hit-list is pretty big now).

Grady Judd is the epitome of a good sheriff. Conversely, our knightmare is the epitome of reckless management that is devoid of leadership.

A secret source said that during a staff meeting, Cpt. ///NAME EDITED/// mentioned that Deputy ///NAME EDITED/// was openly talking smack about Knight during an in-service training cycle.

Lt. ///NAME EDITED/// is trying to get promoted to captain, so to try and make himself look good IFO Knight, he said to everybody present:

“Deputy ///NAME EDITED/// is a resident asshole around here.”

Everybody laughed – except Knight. Oops!

Stay safe and watch your political back.

Everyone knows he talks down to his squad like they are stupid and treats them like he is a perfect deputy that does no wrong. He micro manages people to the point they are afraid to do anything, because it's not his way it's wrong! He talks bad about his squad members to other deputies. Anyone questions us that worked for him, we will tell you, we hated coming to work!

I agree he treats deputies like they are sh@& on his shoes! Everyone is an idiot to him. He has to have his two cents in everything that his squad does, even when it's not needed! If he could treat his squad like they are human beings maybe they would not be so miserable.
