Anger and hate will get you no where. Sounds like you are describing half the department. Bunch of self centered know it alls. People are put in positions not out of experience or knowledge but out of necessity. The promotional system is broke and is unfixable under current leadership. Car 1 also has no answers to the current climate he has created and refuses to listen to anyone. He truly is a legend in his own mine.

No I'm talking in general about the current and the recent past state of affairs. You think MP rise to Sgt is unusual, take a look around here. People promoted through the ranks within several years of joining the department not because of expertise or experience but because of so called unbridled loyalty to car 1. But some slipped totally through the cracks and took voluntary demorions. Then we have people shown the door because they couldn't stomach supporting policies regarding promotions, discipline, 12 HR shifts and a litney of other issues. It's time to drain the swamp.
