All chiefs and no Indians, how has that worked for the past 8 years, complaints have risen, internal affairs investigations have gone off the charts, moral is in the can, hemorrhaging officers to other agencies, lack of new hires, officers accused if being racist, call volume has tripled, while we field less road officers than 10 years ago. Ten or more calls for service holding at any given time, one bad wreck or critical incident paralyzes the entire department, road guys are burned out, one sergeant told his guys that they should not expect to get a break every day they work , so do to mismanagement guys are expected to work 12 hour shift with no break because we are understaffed . Sick of hearing dispatch broadcast " any unit that can clear", not going to rush through calks just to run to another one. Worked a hit and run the other day where driver waited over an hour, then I had to make up some B.S. story why we could not get there in a reasonable amount of time. Chief Diggs patrol needs help desperately. Your top 15 senior officers all approaching retirement, most will leave if an opportunity arises due to it looks as if no improvements are on the horizon .

I got news for you. Patrol always has been and always will be short. When we went to 12s in 2009 they said it would put more manpower on patrol. Well, each shift had 18 officers and that last two weeks and then they filled the specialty spots that were vacant and never went back that way been short ever since.
