the commissioners need to act now to save what we have left. It is very apparent that this administration is a bunch of self serving misfits. You have the chief, what else can we say, the asst chief, captain #1 the next chief or captain #2 who has more education and experience than captain #1 and yes our non union scab at will commanders.
Are the commissioners clueless here? We are consistently short manpower, but yet admin has shorted us with there traffic duty cronies and now want to create a 7 officer traffic unit, complete with motorcycles and short patrol seven officers. They as always strip patrol first then attempt to hire newbies, how is that working out for us.
Vespia wants his motorcycles which are useless so he can augment the honor guard with them. Ft Myers, scso,ccso and punta gorda have them, so will we. Commissioners the money for a payout to him is already IN THE BUDGET, USE IT, MAKE HIM RETIRE AND HIRE AN OUTSIDE CHIEF. But rumor has it the next chief will either be the now asst or New Capt GA in the interim, till CM gets some sort of education. Stop the foolishness, crime is down. cut the unnecessary traffic unit request, get a new chief and look to rehire the lost experienced officers, who just couldn't take the BS anymore, we have lost some really good ones since this man has taken the reigns.
