for the most part, jail deputies meet the requirements for state certification which since the jail
is a separate line item enity and they are ' special deputies' according to f.s.s. 30.
everything in law enforcement has been watered down, so nothing should surprise you.

From my experience, once working in DOD, when that question came up, two answers, can't pass the swim test and / or DoD is much safer, less work, less liability, get to wear the cool wind breaker in the airconditioned jail.

A Deputy is a Deputy no matter what discipline you choose to work in.The Sheriff of a county can give or restrict the power of all his or her Deputies.

BSO Detention is a excellent career choice,many did 25 plus yr careers and are now collecting six figure pensions in their 50s...

More than ever??? Did you go to the promotion ceremony yesterday or did you stay him looking at porn instead. The majority of them were minorities. BSO has never been more minority/gay/disability friendly. Sadly, if you fit any of those categories, you go directly to the head of the line now. If youre a gay minority in a wheelchair, the sheriff will piss himself to make you happy.

So very TRUE^^^^. Nope stayed home and watched porn. Had a much better time and I didn't have to be tortured by what walked across the stage. This Dept along with many other's are going down the sh*tter..look at what just got promoted.......DISGUSTING!!!
