Well lets say your average 8 years is 40k and you do the mandatory 30 years now. 40 x .90%= 36,000 per year which would be $3000 per month before taxes so depending on your deductions your looking at about 2200-2400 per month retired..

All FHP guys should immediately find employment elsewhere and let the agency just finally die.

Rick Scott will get his wish and the SO's and PD's will absorb the highway in their respective jurisdictions. Former FHP guys will make at least 10-20K more starting salary with way better benefits, etc.

FHP starting salary? $33,977....NO STEP PLAN ($34K top out)

Sunrise PD starting salary? $57,500 - FULL STEP PLAN ($95K top out)
Coral Springs PD starting salary? $55,000 - FULL STEP PLAN ($90K top out)
Boca Raton PD starting salary? $56,500 - FULL STEP PLAN ($92K top out)
PBSO starting salary? $52,000 - FULL STEP PLAN ($88K top out)
BSO starting salary? $49,000 - FULL STEP PLAN ($85K top out)

The list goes on....and on.....and on.........

So imagine working 20 years, starting at 33K and ending at....33K. WAKE UP AND DO THE RIGHT THING FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILIES. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

I was not brass, just looked at opportunity's to grab as much overtime as I could whenever it was available.

My retirement before taxes is $5,539 or $66,468 a year.
