    CNN: Narcan for Librarians

    CNN article:
Call the librarian: Unlikely heroes move to the front lines of the opioid overdose epidemic

    http://www.cnn.com/2017/06/23/health...can/index.html

Sad that Narcan is becoming such a common and effective tool that even librarians get it, but not all cops have it.

On the other hand, to avoid scrutiny with FHP about it, Im very happy we DO NOT HAVE the option of Narcan.

It never fails that no matter what decision you do/do not make, or how well you write the report, someone along the chain INVENTS a issue about it. Most of the supervisors and brass don't even know what a basic sternum rub is or what's it's for.

Kinda like when in FTO, FHP says a trainee should never have a day without some type of constructive criticism.

This agency has always had shotgun blast knee jerk reactions to everything, and counting routine equipment, serial numbers, expiration dates, etc. is no exception.

Well the "BASIC Sternum RUB" has been out of favor for about 3-5 years now depending on what level of education and training you have. This procedure should not be being taught anymore. A simple clavicle pinch and or a pen to the finger nail bed has taken its place.

I think the point was that FHP brass are narrow minded and will not support your actions if it involves something they are not trained in (which is a lot).
