    Pay raises

Does the department give yearly raises? Merit increases? Or do you have to see a promotion in order to get a raise?

There is no step pay plan, no annual raises and no merit raises. Promotions come with raises. Every thing else is literally an act of the legislature. July 1, 2017 will be a 5% raise for state law enforcement. The first pay raise in many years. Given the Florida Legislature is proud that the cost of state government is the lowest in the nation, don't look for another raise anytime soon.

Normally you have to be off probation to promote. Probation periods are a year long so technically you could promote once a year.

700 a week would be 1400 bi weekly. Bi weekly is two weeks.

    Doesn't seem right for 31,890.90 a year

That figure may be off by 5 or so % but the bottom line is Florida state law enforcement pays the absolute minimum they can. Keep in mind that the commissioner of the department wants to be governor. Do you think he is proud of what state employees make?
