"A special Tampa Bay Times report reveals startling and previously unreported findings about police shootings in Florida. Over six years, officers in Florida shot 827 people, and blacks were shot at a higher rate than whites.

The Times database also exposes troubling racial disparities in Florida police shootings:

• More African-Americans were struck by police bullets than whites, even though whites outnumber blacks in Florida 3 to 1.

• Blacks were more likely than whites to be shot during a traffic stop.

• Among unarmed shooting victims, black people were nearly eight times as likely to be shot by police as whites."

There are more Black in prision too but that is simply cause Blacks commit more crime than Whites. More Blacks do things that cause cops to have to defend themselves than Whites. It's a simple fact. Why should this surprise anyone and why does the liberal rag TBT have to do a massive hype story on that. Not like its some big news. Simple how this works, get a job, make money, dont steal and don't do stuff that makes a cop have to defend himself cause you pulled a knife, gun, etc... and yea BTW, bet the gun used to cause the cop to shoot at the Black guy was stolen. TBT is a flawed left wing conspiracy fish wrapper. They look at overall numbers but don't offer one single example of a bad shooting. Each shooting is investigated individually as it happens. It's looked at by the agency, the SAO and sometimes by FDLE. When you look at six years of data all you have is stats. You cannot show any cause and effect. TBT is grasping for some correlation and all th y can find is race. Never mind there is no mention of the race of the officer unless they are white. And race has nothing to do with a shooting when you are being shot at. Lets look at who killed the last few officers in a Pinellas County, black and black. Where is the expose on that? Oh but we hear about poor Nick Lindsey being a misunderstood youth or how someone's house got knocked down. You don't have time to evaluate race when some tries to kill you. Where is the report on why blacks commit more crimes? Oh that's right, it's called racial disparity and crime. Maybe stop pandering to horrible parents who have bad kids who break the law because they have no moral compass. You will find that issue has no race either. Bad parents make bad kids. Bad kids who break the law should get more than the BS doled out by the weak juvenile justice system that calls them clients and is more worried about liability than punishment. Does BLM write for the Times now?

Yeah, it is a common occurrence for a mayor to order a crime scene demolished. It is likely that the overzealous cops shot each other and then tried to blame it on the suspect.


Police spokesman Mike Puetz said the rubble will be spread out and examined at an off-site location.
He said it wasn't an ideal way to search for evidence.
"Some items may not be located because of that," he said.
