What we need to do is take every single agency in Dade and Broward County, and then combine them into one large Department. All under one budget. All on the same page. We'll have it be ran by one elected leader and his commissioners. Call it South Florida PD or Metro SFPD.🖒

Why We Need Fed Intervention
Perfect example of the corruption around here. If this happens with complaints for parking imagine what's been happening with other complaints and the what's the reason for no action. One see why them Golden Beach boys been so busy exposing the endless corruption yet now we can see why nothing has happened or will happen to those involved. If they can turn a blind eye to true complaints imagine when serious complaints come in and they do nothing. This practice needs to end, everyone needs to be help accountable for the Director down, to many skeletons in the closet and to many lies being covered.

Just watch who throws his hat in the ring if this happens. He's been quietly posturing himself for this for years and will pounce on this in a sec.

I'm sure Vanilla Juan has nightmares about this every night. He has to get lucky every day. We only need to get lucky once.

He will be long gone before this happens. He has only about two years left in his drop. If everything went perfect, you are still talking about 3-4 years before the first elected sheriff would actually take office. I still think that it needs to be done. We are the only county this way and it is a control issue only.

Sheriffs Must Be Elected
HB 721 by Representative Jason Fischer was heard in the House Judiciary Committee. The bill will place a constitutional amendment on the 2018 General Election Ballot asking voters to approve the statewide requirement that all sheriffs must be elected. Currently, only Dade County has an appointed public safety director. PBA President John Rivera testified in support of the legislation. The bill passed the committee.

Bill died on calendar as of may 2017. Cosponsor would have to bring it up again next session.
