That is correct and this blog is over. TEXAS WINS, TEXAS WINS. Florida TKO. The ref stop this fight. Florida can not defend itself.

A lot more people= a lot more tax money, a lot more tax money = a lot more spending

Thanks. Let's think the taxes and spending through:
Do 10 million more people result in more sales tax revenue or less?

If more, is it significantly more?

Next, do these extra people result in more property, gas, communication, etc. taxes being collected?

Then there are fees (look at your vehicle registration or phone bill).

Looked at another way (income/taxes/fees), as a landlord, you have 100 tenants. You clear $100/month from each of them. As time goes by, you keep the same number of tenants, so your income stays about the same. If however you get another 100 tenants, your income will double.

The problem was identified in the budget review I linked. Looked at another way (spending):
You get a promotion and make an extra $10,000/year.
Taking the 40% or so bite from taxes/fees out of the equation, if you spend the $10K (or more) buying stuff you don't need (*DEO*), you have no more money available for things you do need such as savings, utilities, a vehicle, etc.

I agree with your conclusion as to pay raises. Lack of involvement/apathy will ensure the FHP is never properly funded.
