What would be concerning to me here with the bathroom issue is that could a bad guy who "identifies" as male temporarily pretend to be someone who identifies as female just so he can get into the girls bathroom or locker room (even showers in the locker room) and commit a sex crime there against a woman, who in some cases could be the only other person in there. The "you shouldn't have been in the women's room to begin with" rule being off the table leaves one less obstacle to keep that from happening.
