This is not true, just talk to THI in Orlando they love it and they still work plenty of ODPE. You can also talk to the guys in Pasco County they say the same. Stop believing the crap about ODPE. You can still work it and pay your bills.

Paikai is trying to push a proposal through the chain of command for 12 hour shifts as well as rotating shifts.

    It's better

You work 2 days a week and every other weekend. No time for 208?

It would probably be more like 4 days the first week and 3 the next week and due to the 16 hour rule you would have to work 208 on your days off.

The point of the 12 hour shift is you get more coverage on the road for the same level of staffing, you get more days off (which you can still work 208 on if you want) 4x12's on 3 days off, 3x12's 4 days off... If there is time available i can use 36 hours of vacation - and get 10 days off in a row. Or i can work just 2 of my days off as 208, and get 24 or 32 hours of 208 (depending on if i work 12 or 16) and STILL have 2 days off... or what ever work 3 or 4 of your days off and get even more...

I don't understand why people think this is a bad thing.... DO THE MATH. it works out to a better quality of life and MORE MONEY across the board.
