This is not true, just talk to THI in Orlando they love it and they still work plenty of ODPE. You can also talk to the guys in Pasco County they say the same. Stop believing the crap about ODPE. You can still work it and pay your bills.

The point of the 12 hour shift is you get more coverage on the road for the same level of staffing, you get more days off (which you can still work 208 on if you want) 4x12's on 3 days off, 3x12's 4 days off... If there is time available i can use 36 hours of vacation - and get 10 days off in a row. Or i can work just 2 of my days off as 208, and get 24 or 32 hours of 208 (depending on if i work 12 or 16) and STILL have 2 days off... or what ever work 3 or 4 of your days off and get even more...
I don't understand why people think this is a bad thing.... DO THE MATH. it works out to a better quality of life and MORE MONEY across the board.
