    Sheriff being sued by dispatchers

Broward County 911 operators have filed a class action suit against Sheriff Scott Israel for unreasonable working conditions.
It seems the phony FOPE endorsement for the sheriff did not include Comm. Operators.

Confirming that the article submitted was not lawsuit, it is a grevience, or if that's what you want to call it, that was submitted by the FOPE business rep Joeanne Alvarez. Don't be fooled as this is a political ploy by Alavrez, the FOPE, Israel and upper management to attempt to direct blame for the failures of 911 regionalization on the county commissioners. Just as they tried blaming the county commissioners for not supplying funding for the escaped murderer last month.

But anyway, this is the same Alvarez who is supposed to support and back the members yet questions why members want to hold an open forum meeting of sheriff candidates. The same Alvarez that posted on facebook response that they knew who the anonymous person was on the 911 peice Bob Norman did last month, and they were asking for it.

Alvarez does not support the membership and is with the admin. So once again the Israel camp attempts to take responsibility for any screw up and try to pass blame to,someone else.

How in the world does this guy get by doing this constantly. Better yet why would anyone want to vote for him is beyond me. For all things good and holy, vote this cancer out...

Oh thought it was because they told them less than 15 sandwiches per shift?

Certainly doesn't take the non compassionate poor excuse for a human being to chime in with his words of wisdom. Thanks for your input and making a difference with your statement. Sure you are very proud.

How long will you FOPE members allow Marciano to sell you out?

    Go read the article: http://www.sun-sentinel.com/local/br...824-story.html

It isn't an attack on Israel at all. It is an attack by FOPE against the county commission. Did any of you read the story?

"The grievance was submitted to Sheriff Scott Israel, but Marciano said the problem stems from a lack of funding by the county, which contracts with the Broward Sheriff's Office for the operation and maintenance of the system, at approximately $39 million a year."

I thought that the county took over dispatching? They aren't even in the PSB anymore. Dispatchers from all agencies (except for those that didn't want to lose theirs-Plantation, Coral Springs) are dispatching out of Sunrise P.D., Coconut Creek P.D. and one south (don't remember that one). Please explain this too me. Not trying to stir up anything, I just don't really know now.

All the communications and 911 for police and fire are no longer Their independent cities with the exception of Coral Springs and plantation. Scott Isfake lobbied after he got elected in 2012 to let BSO basically be in charge of every fascist of regional 911 operations, county only funds the system through the yearly budget, which btw is submitted by the sheriffs office.

Israel,in his quest for power and ego, refused to allow any other agency control the regional 911 services and appointed inexperienced and non deserving political hires to head the process. Prime example is the current Director of communications has no,formal experience or training, no degree in administration and has the experience of just a shift level supervisor.

Problems with the system started showing through the the crack a few years into it, and the Israel camp tried blaming the 911 operators themselves. When the public wasn't buying that load of crap and spin, they, meaning Israels cronies, thrn figured they will try to place the blame on the county Commisioners for not enough funding, if you recall, this was the same excuse Israel pitched in public , which is documented in newscasts, when he blamed the county commissioners for not giving him enough money to staff the courthouse when the escaped murderer fled from BSO,custody last month.

So in true Israel fashion, instead of accepting responsibility for any negative issues, he tries to find a scapegoat to fall on the sword so he comes out smelling like roses, or so he thinks.

The FOPE, which is part and parcel Union to the 911'operators and all the jail deputies recently endorsed Israel for re-election. It was initially surprising that the FOPE issued a class action grevience to sheriff Israel, seeing that there executive board just endorsed his reelection earlier in the month, however when you read the wording on the grevience, it, in true Israel, fashion or shall I say in this case, FOPE fashion, is directing the blame on the unfavorable working conditions in communications and 911 on the city Commisioners..

So, in lehmans terms, Israel appoints inexperienced non qaulified people to run the system and are failing miserably. Instead of addressing the management problems, he is blaming everyone else for his failures as a leader.

This is why this clown needs to be voted out of office. Thank God this position is a constitutional officer position elected and not appointed. At least the Broward public has the option to cast a vote for another candidate that actually cares about the BSO.,
