We know them well. The Perezes, the Pattersons, the Organvidezes, etc., of our department world. These are the guys who lecture us about "morale" and "values" in our department . They are the guys who pretend to be moral and dignified. Nothing could be further from the truth. They have risen to their positions of power by selling their souls, their honor and manhood. They justify supporting Carlos Gimenez's agenda by pushing body cameras, decriminalizing small possessions of marihuana, permitting hoodlums from taking over our streets in motorbikes, destroying investigative units, cutting back personnel and transferring or firing at will anyone who dares call them out all the while conspiring to push Gimenez's political agenda. They disregard the personnel cuts brought on by Gimenez or the policies that have turned our department into a private security army intended only to appease Gimenez. All they care about is adding stars to their shirt collars, pretend to be persons of "substance" and lie to their kids and wives about how "hard work" has brought them to their life stations. Nothing could be further from the truth. They are empty suits, whoring themselves in political commercials for Gimenez upon retirement or taking illicit orders at all times of the day and night from a corrupt mayor. They are also the ones pushing bibles, cursillos or the Emaus brothers dogma on the lower ranks to make themselves look wholly and pure. Well, you are not pure. You are nothing but greedy dehumanized beings without conscience or decency. We smile when you walk by to keep up appearances. We answer politely when you spew your lies to preserve our jobs. We accept your orders because we still believe in chain of command. Yet, the day you retire we would not spit on you to put out a fire. We comment amongst ourselves what a piece of work you truly are and we laugh about your level of submission and how we would not want to be caught dead in your compromised positions. So, enjoy your ranks, your promotions, your raises, the adulation of lackeys, the bennies that come with the rank. Enjoy your virtual life and smile at the mirror when you see yourselves. If history has proven us right, of our last three "directors", one has ended up in scandal and jail, one had to flee from our county in the middle of the night and the third offed himself because of the demons in his head that he could not put to rest. We will see what happens with the Perezes, the Pattersons and the Organivezes, etc., in the near future when all those little stars and olive leaves have been turned over to the property room and retirement has brought you back to the real world.

Did Organvidez and Patterson really get paid $50k each for those commercials endorsing the mayor? Has anyone checked the mayor's campaign and PAC accounts to see if payment was extended to either one of those individuals. If they did get paid that only means that every decision those two individuals made in the last four years was compromised while working secretly against our department employees on behalf of the mayor. The ultimate betrayal.
