    three candidates

Johnson: 23 years with Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office, 33 years in law enforcement, masters degree, FBI national academy graduate, former military.

Roper: 33 years as a trooper. Never supervised any one but himself. Bachelor's degree. wants to make either CW or don leland his number 2.

Way: 34 years as an Escambia county sheriff's deputy (most the years traffic). no degree and nothing else to offer.

I think I would have to go with Johnson. The other two do not have a vested interest in this Sheriff's Office. Roper has run for this position enough times to qualify for an AARP card, and Way wants to bring some of his Escambia buddies over here and let his wife run the office.
Way and Roper would be a step backwards for the Sheriff's Office!!

seems like you and way are running in the same intellectual circles - what an embarrassment for the whole county. It's hard to argue with the facts that both retired candidates have nothing to show or prove the ability to run anything but escorting parades, handing out traffic tickets. The problem is morons like you (since you attacked the person not the argument) who cannot distinguish between bitumen and Beethoween

As for your logical fallacy and premise - here it is in laymen terms: Know your shit or know you're shit.

If still not clear : this is a sheriff's election not the presidential candidates debate. Again - bitumen vs Beethoven.

Your intent to sound intelligent has failed you. Because Bob looks good on paper does not necessarily mean he is the right person for the job. In less than 3 years Bob has went from Lt to Captain to Major and now Chief Deputy. His "experience" in running the agency, one of his campaign pitches, is only a few months of him sitting next to Hall. Hall wasn't FBI academy, Masters Degree, or even "vast" experience as a supervisor. He looked nearly the same on paper as Roper or Way, with the exception of Way not having a degree. But the question you should ask: does Bob have the best interest of the people, the deputies and agency in mind? I dont think so considering the number of people he has personally railroaded to get t his current rank and position.

And yes I have to agree with the other poster. Just because Hillary Clinton has been in the white house doesn't mean she should be sitting in the oval office. She has screwed over her share of people just like Bob.

Ha ha . Your comprehension failed you. Again going by your flawed reasoning: Bob accomplished more in three years than the retired traffic officer and patrol officer combined. It's not just paper, actually you have to do something to earn those. why the other candidates were not chosen by their agencies is up to them, but they do not have any of those credentials.
It's hard to argue with facts.
He did have to earn and work for those, and he is running the agency , when the sheriff is away, not in paper, but you know actually doing it, not just hypothetically imaging it that he could wing those things.

As for Hall, he was and did have a pretty good track record before he became sheriff - and got recognition from within his agency, which any of these retired candidates lack.

Speaking of Way, his biggest issue is not having a degree or any credible experience, but the lack of formulating coherent English sentences.

Bob has to have only one interest in his mind: uphold the constitution and enforce the law, making policies that are the best interest keeping this county safe , fist and foremost.

As for the Clinton analogy, if your reasoning skills are at this level, show me how Bob Johnson lied to the public, took millions of dollars in his foundations, set up a private server in his home to handle state-wide secrets, had an FBI investigation against him, so basically broke the law. The only lowest common dominator for your enlightenment is the executive function of government.

Bob Johnson is, by far, not my favorite person. But, being a mature professional, he has my support.

I've studied all three candidates and agree with the above posts. Bob has worked hard to get to this point and has the ability to lead. Nothing personal against Roper and Way, but handing out traffic citations and escorting funeral processions isn't quite a sheriff's candidate bell ringer next to Bob's training, experience and education.

About Hall, probably even my least favorite than Bob, wasn't where Bob is now but that was in 2000. In this day and age, as law enforcement evolves even more, a better educated and far more superior sheriff is needed.

Roper and Way have had over 30 years to build their resumes and failed to do so. Way should have worked on his education and promoted his way up.

Roper at least has a 4 year degree, but spent his entire career as a non-ranking trooper. He had all of these years but like Way, didn't take that career path.

Bob isn't just the clear choice; he's the only choice.
