Actually inmate Butler did physically resist deputy Gee by pulling away twice, which caused the legal use of force. Gee took Butler down but did not break her arm intentionally, the contact with the floor did while the Butler was struggling. As far as Gee's takedown of Butler, the sheriff has ruled that choke holds are allowed by setting precedent in the Madeira Beach incident with Sgt. Bingham. Bad termination, I hope she fights it and wins. Worst case, she should be given a letter of reprimand and sent to remedial use of force training. Let this incident be a reminder to all the jail deputies, especially those who are working booking that this sheriff does not back you up but will fire you whenever he feels like it due to his inconsistent enforcement and interpretation of the GOs.

Yupp, the Sheriff probably should have left the following out of the press release:

While at the booking counter, Deputy Gee stood to the right side of Butler, holding Butler’s jacket with her left hand. Butler was secured in handcuffs, with her hands behind her back. Butler shifted her weight away from Deputy Gee, who pulled Butler back toward her direction.

Watch the video. She was cuffed behind her back. Was NOT resiting. Swayed to the side. Gee grabbed her by the neck, did a leg sweep of a handcuffed behind the back back person, had about 10 deputies nearby and took her to the ground hard breaking her arm. How the hell is that okay? Live in you fantasy world. Gee choked out a handcuffed woman for no reason and broke her arm!!!! Period end of story. But keep putting out a BS version that is FAKE NEWS!!!!

Obviously she was resisting.. It's clear in the video and mentioned twice in the From the official press release:

Deputy Gee first came into contact with Butler when she approached Butler to take a booking photo. Butler failed to comply with Deputy Gee’s direction by refusing to look up at the camera.

Deputy Gee then escorted Butler to the booking counter, where she attempted to obtain Butler’s name for the purpose of identifying her, but Butler did not respond to Deputy Gee’s questioning.

While at the booking counter, Deputy Gee stood to the right side of Butler, holding Butler’s jacket with her left hand. Butler was secured in handcuffs, with her hands behind her back. Butler shifted her weight away from Deputy Gee, who pulled Butler back toward her direction.

Butler then moved away from Deputy Gee a second time. Deputy Gee pulled Butler back towards her, then placed her right hand around Butler’s neck and maintained her hold as she slammed Butler to the ground.

The booking desk with all those cameras recording every move is a great place to get some time off or get fired. More people have been fired from there than any other place in the jail. If I was working the booking desk I'd tell them to put me somewhere else or I'd call in sick. When they installed the cameras back in the old booking desk now A-wing they told us it was for our own safety and protection. There hasn't been a single case in which this was true, but there have been many cases in which video was used to punish and fire people. For you rookies or the naive, that's the main purpose of the hundreds of jail cameras, so the jail administration can spy on, micromanage and punish you. Good luck finishing out your time.

    No discipline for male deputy?

Too bad there's no audio. Oh wait, but there is. Maybe the woman said something the male deputy did not like. Because THAT deputy started the brawl. Why no discipline at all for him? And why was Gee fired "today" when this happened almost 4 months ago? Maybe cause BG got wind the story was posting? And he knew it would make him look like he is...a sexist sheriff.

Nice assist from the LEO in black behind her, steps out of the way instead of grabbing the inmate.

The SO is attempting to recruit via Facebook for various jail positions. Bob should include the link to this article and video if he was interested in truth in advertising. Maybe then potential recruits will think twice before even considering this demoralized workplace.
