    Where's the punishment

Well..Well..Well it appears the Chief Deputy has himself in quite a sticky situation. There are accusations being made that he emailed a political advertisement for Sheriff Morgan, WHILE ON DUTY and WITHOUT THE LEGALLY REQUIRED DISCLAIMER IN THE AD.

For those who aren't aware of what is going on please read the article on panhandlepolitico.com.

I'm not a lawyer but judging on what has been done to others in the past such as John Powell and Mr Fink, these accusations appear to be criminal in nature. And campaigning while on duty is against policy. Falsifying your timesheet is against policy and can result in criminal charges or termination. Just ask James, Cox, Eddins, etc.
Others at the department who have been accused of a crime where immediately placed on Admin Leave. No questions asked. So why hasn't the same treatment been extended to the Chief Deputy? He should be held to a higher standard and forced to resign.
Shame on you Haines. Not living by the rules you force on everyone else is disgusting. And shame on Morgan for allowing Haines to carry on the way he has. It's up to Morgan now. He needs to do the right thing and if he isn't man enough to fire Haines he needs to put him out on Admin Leave. Or maybe the State Attorney's office will make the decision for Morgan.

When Morgan was a private investigator, he worked for Bill Eddins. Don't count on the State Attorney to do the right thing and bring justice. I'm starting to think these guys are Teflon. Eric is by far the most disrespected cop in Escambia County history and to the best of my knowledge hasn't done a lick of good.

Where's the PBA president and why isn't he calling for an investigation and withdrawing the PBA endorsement for Morgan?

Members have been overdisciplined for less serious violations but Haines gets a pass?

    Why is the PBA silent?

Wilson: Got his job back and then resigned

Poole: Let his district partner respond to a call alone without ever leaving the precinct and then lied about what he was doing. He needed to be gone.

Kilgore: A sexual predator who was picking up girls that he arrested? He wrote notes to one girl under arrest in the back of his car, put it up where she could see it, and even made sure he didn't say anything because of the camera. He then threw away the note so there would be no evidence...........except he threw it away in the jail trash can. Ask the crime scene techs how sad they are Kilgore is gone.

How about roe, jarmen, and bell. Some of these folks have commited criminal violations and have kept their jobs and still able to arrest people for crimes they themselves have commited. Barnhill and numerous others have had sex on duty and kept their jobs. Wilson and kilgore had similiar cases and both told the truth. Neither had sex on duty. I agree poole lost credibility when he lied.

What they did is old history. What Haines did is recent and criminal. He should be at least on a adim.leave!

He hasn't been placed on admin leave because without Haines, Morgan does not know how to run the agency. He didn't know how to run it under Chavers or Aiken either. Morgan is not a leader and cannot function without help.

Haines is like his little brother in Santa Rosa: golden. Scott got caught in the act looking at porn. Otis Hall gave him a slap on the butt. Then when others got caught doing the same thing Otis was smart and slapped the others except with a paddle. Scott has been accused of sleeping with a newspaper reporter while married and the 2 engaged in pillow talk. Scott made Lt with virtually no supervisory experiencd because of his goldeness and will probably be chief deputy. The point? Both of the Haines boys have the same DNA: sucked and licked their way up.

Their actions may be old but still unethical and dishonorable. We are the sheriff's office. We are here to watch over our citizens at all cost, not get out here and see what we can get away with. I'm sad that individuals who get away with breaking policy and talking behind your back are the ones who get promoted at rapid speed. This is why morale is low and people are continuing to abandon the agency.
