FHP and SSO had cameras on scene. They chose NOT to use them.

During the crash, Myron Davis was in his car with:
    - Angela Davis, 40
    - Malik Davis, 17
    - Joseph Hodge, 15
    - Carlo Thompson, 25
    - Joevon Turner, 15.

Trooper Flow wrote, “Due to a lack of independent witnesses, I am unable to determine if Weissman's vehicle collided with the rear of Davis's vehicle. No charges will be filed."

Davis said, “I figured she was somebody special.”
If it weren't in the newspaper, then nobody would believe it happened. All five of the witnesses in the car (six including the victim) would be admissible in court. It will be interesting to see if this fiasco dies on the vine or mushrooms. As Trump would say, "This is huge!"

Lee, can you please post the original report and the amended report at the H-T website? It is legal for you to do that since you are not a government agency.

It's very good that no SSO cameras recorded anything because if there was a recording of Weisman at the scene, then it could potentially implicate us for inaction. As it stands now, it's all on FHP.

lesser things have gone to IA. Time to put people on the box. In today's day and age this stinks of corruption and that is the last thing we need. Do an IA Sheriff and move Flint, he is obviously too close to this prosecutor. The Sheriff will do the right thing he is pro DUI all the way.

Are you for real? Let's a trip down memory lane, shall we? Why didn't Knight investigate Captain Ron Locke (now retired) when a tipster informed Knight that Locke (Knight's political 2nd floor buddy) got a juvenile pregnant and then got her to abort the baby? Since Knight refused to investigate Locke, FDLE stepped in and investigated Locke. Knight is very selective about who he will and won't investigate. Political buddies are safe! Knight is not stupid, but he is definitely crafty. However, the Locke case blew up in Knight's face and exposed him for what he is.

Flint is fine. He received a cellphone call way past midnight from a drunk professional colleague who was in a jam. Flint didn't know what was going on, so he made a follow-up phone call and sent someone else out to the scene to see what was going on. There is nothing wrong with what Flint did. Flint had absolutely nothing to do with what happened at the scene.

And exactly what good will that do? Kevin McElyea was put on the box and he flunked it -- and then Knight later promoted McElyea into his "2nd floor inner circle" as a captain. The McElyea case blew up in Knight's face and exposed him for what he is.

It's a political mess, as well as a legal mess. If on-scene cameras were rolling, then none of this would be happening, but as Knight freely admitted: "He is afraid of getting sued if cam footage is released to the public." Knight's statement exposes him for what he really is. A charlatan.

Because cam footage would be evidentiary, as well as public record.

Knight's refusal to allow the wearing of bodycams is a total smoke screen.

And regarding what happened at the scene: This case is now a royal cluster that is clouded by smoke and mirrors -- the truth will never be known or revealed. And that's a fact.

The State Attorney's Office is investigating the conduct of Jessie Weissman, the Sarasota prosecutor who was involved in two suspicious early morning crashes on July 17, State Attorney Ed Brodsky said Wednesday.

Brodsky said both prosecutors and investigators assigned to his office will conduct the “internal” investigation, and he would not rule out that criminal charges could be filed.

“Obviously, we're looking into this matter and taking it seriously. We are concerned about it,” the circuit's chief prosecutor said. “We want to make sure that the (FHP) investigation was conducted properly and the right thing was done. We don't feel prosecutors deserve special treatment.”

Oh this is sad. Anything of evidentiary value is now destroyed. No video tape, no BAL, no breathalyzer, no nothing. And Ed Brodsky has the audacity to accuse depuDeputiest deputies of perjury in that other trafficking case. Everything is upside down around here.
