That's an excellent contrast. Both of those cases are in the bizarre extreme because both cases deviated from expected standard practices in law enforcement. You have to work inside the criminal justice system to see how extreme politics can go (in almost any strange direction). Most civilians now fully understand it, but there are still a lot of "old people" in our retirement community/county who swallow the party line and they believe whatever official story they are told. When secretive underhanded politics gets involved, it creates a sense of injustice and contempt and disgust for the system. The SSO 2nd floor (Knight and his political hacks) and the SAO (Brodsky and his political hacks) are unfortunately very political and they can get very nasty in secretive ways that will never be known to the public. Most of the "old people" in our retirement county/community are forever oblivious to it.

Hey if you are stupid enough to drink at a party with cops then drink and drive and get caught. You don't deserve to wear to wear the badge. He could of gotten a ride home , uber or whatever. I have no sympathy for people like that. Short and simple. Grow up drink at home and you won't have to worry about stupid stuff like that. The Sheriff did the right thing.

She is great person but made a poor choice that night. She might of dodged criminality issues because of her knowledge but I am sure she has some regret of her actions. she will go on to a private firm and I am sure do very well. As for whistle blowing. As an Attorney I am sure she is bound by the law and cannot disclose things outside of that office without repercussions to the Florida Bar I wish her well. She will learn and move on.
