As with any department. We have our drama too. It's what you put into it and how much, child like behavior you can deal with. Everyone's has a different opinion about this place and those that have to work with and around. If you can leave the drama at the door at the end of your shift and not take it home with you. It's not a bad place. Many think this is the best place to work. Many say it's the worst, yet they are still employed here. Asking for opinions on here. You'll get all types of feedback. Most are based on personal negativity, they were dealt, one time or another. Those as it's been put that are in the friends and family plan. Will say this place is where to be. As with any Sheriff's department. It's all about the election. Promises will be made and maybe full filled. Truthfully, there's no easy or correct answer. On how this place is. It what you can deal with and let the rest roll off your shoulders.

PCSO agency of last resort
If no other agency will hire you because of your checkered past or you were fired from another PD than PCSO is the place to be. It's full of bad cops they won't fire, and a majority of the deputies are under 25 with zero experience. We are an embarrassment as we make the news on a weekly basis with some deputy getting arrested , or fired. Welcome aboard!!!!

Funny because most of that dirt happened on the patrol side. Aside from the on duty sex scandal involving the jail sergeants most of the media entertainment and embarrassment is provided by the mighty patrol deputies and their supervisors.
The only way to remove these stories from the media is to greatly relax or terminate the agency rules on marital infidelity, sex on duty, DUI, lying, use of force cover-ups, drug/steroid usage and domestic battery. Corruption is already tacitly ignored so that one does not need to be addressed.

Look elsewhere, no COLA here. You will quickly fall behind after a few years of receiving a total raise of $700-$900 a year.

I'll be retired from the feds, so COLA are over maybe I'll get one as a retiree maybe not. I'm told by some fla LEO'S that they don't like retired cops coming to their agencies, any truth to that or just alot of bs?
