Sheriff, what is up with all the new SUV'S ?

Explain why you have so many SUV'S hidden behind the Paul Rein Facility? Another example of wasted tax payers money.

Nothing really to see here, those big ugly wastes of money are there waiting completion...real question is why buy that garbage and not the Taurus?

Nothing is "hidden" behind Rein. For years, BSO stages all our new police vehicles there for prep work for lighting, markings, etc. Our lighting package vendor is right around the corner. Nothing new.

Cronies need SUVs. Once you get transferred to the 5th floor an SUV is part of the package and an iPhone with the LEO affairs application already downloaded in it.

There's going to be about 400 "cronies" in the agency then...I just say there's going to be 400 guys in a crappy overpriced suv. But remember they can't afford more than a 2% cola

The explorers are actually cheaper than the Chargers, break down less than the Chargers and are more fuel efficient. Some local departments have actually decided to go all explores for these reasons. I don't care either way but these are why. BSO is saving 100's of thousands of dollars with this new lease program which should be going towards our raise, not going towards pensions of the Fort Lauderdale guys being brought over.

Just FYI these new cars are not leased, they are being purchased in payments over years rather than paying the entire lump sum all at once so all they are doing is extending the payments...explorers cost less than the charger bc they suck. You get what you pay for...

Incorrect young one. The new cars are 3 year leases, this is why we keep the ugly green and only wrap the doors. The wraps will be removed at end of lease program to hand cars back in. This came straight from the captains mouth down in fleet. Feel free and go ask yourself.

    1. They weren't leased, they were financed.

    2. They are painted green with the white wrap because it saves a ton of money versus painting them two colors.

This came straight from fleet command when I asked.
