    Inspectors to Agents

Great idea! We need our number of Agents to increase, however we need to be careful. Some current inspectors are way to excitable, some are not good at what they currently do, some left their Agent job voluntarily when it got to tough or they were threatened they would be let go, some are just idiots, some would have no business carrying a firearm, and a few got screwed. Just be careful and do your homework!

A good man once said "A man's got to know his limitations" or something like that. Some former agents that stepped down should be able to come back as agents. I don't have any sympathy for guys that defected to avoid to stupid crap the rest of us that stuck it out went through.

Rumor has it a few inspectors want to be agents and the agency may actually sponsor them in an academy in their areas. Doesn't sound like a bad idea for the few that want to do it so long as they aren't tacticool and can pull their weight.

I cant imagine ABT sponsoring anyone (pay) to the basic recruit academy. There is no incentive when every opening has dozens of qualified applicants. If you are an inspector and want to be sworn, show some drive and initiative and send yourself.

The academy will NOT be paid for, nor will they be able to go on state time. They will merely be sponsored by letter of recommendation only.

No letter needed to attend. Pass the background and have a credit card you are in!

True, a letter of rec can still be done though. I think it will be ABT's version of a reach-around to make it look the investigative specialist are being "enriched".
