Mr Director fix the morale. Promote the best and let the best go to specialized units. Be consistent and fair! In discipline and promotions/transfers!

Director is lost in the sauce
He doesn't know how to run a dept. he just started and already is disciplining our own while operating "hug a thug" programs in the hood and spending money on useless shit like a helicopter and marked Admin cars for the slugs in their cubicles! Good job JP keep it up.

Someone please get him a speech writer. Better yet, a spokesman. We can't take anymore embarrassing public speeches/memorials.

Juanito, instead of foolishly dancing like pubescent boy, you better remind sworn members under your command that police chases are authorized only when the officer reasonably believes the driver has committed or attempted to commit a felony which involves the use or threat of physical force or violence against a person. All other pursuits are prohibited. “Paraphrased from SOP 4-49 VEHICLES - B. Decision to Pursue: CALEA 41.2.2a.” While the story has the obligatory claim the motorcyclists “hit” the squad car -- at best a property hit and run and certainly not an aggravated assault and less an aggravated battery using the motorcycle as a lethal weapon -- the allegation fails the smell test. Besides, it was Homestead PD's cluster F... to begin with and most importantly, were Homestead PD officers injured, then why were MDPD units involved. Which begs the question: Where were MDPD sergeants, lieutenants, district captain and even the major?
It is a matter of WHEN uninvolved citizens are going to get killed, maimed if you continue to ignore pursuit restriction in effect since the 1992 Florida Supreme Court decision in CITY OF PINELLAS PARK v. Lawrence P. BROWN. Don’t recall this case, have your knowledgeable Legal Advisors refresh your memory. When an MDPD, vehicle pursuit precipitated tragedy occurs, Gimenez will discard you faster than the dental cord he uses to floss his now capped, formerly decayed teeth!

The below cited chase was worth the risks, three armed criminals who likely were going to perpetrate a violent crime. Kudos to all involved!
