Why has no one spoken out to the newspaper, the media the legislature, or anyone else about how our stats are manipulated, reports go missing, and things aren't documented. Supervisors who screw up and as long as they stay loyal they are either not punished or re-promoted quickly.

Otis is corrupt and BJ will just be more of the same. Am I the only one who feels bad for the citizens who don't know what is really going on? The counties on both sides of us are cesspools and their trash is starting to move in, but we don't seem to acknowledge it, damn sure we don't fight it.

The difference between Otis and past SRC Sheriff's is that he is smart and covers his tracks well. But he is undoubtedly on the dishonest side of the house and BJ is his protégé.

When Otis took office in January of 2001 he nearly received a standing ovation after he declared that certain aspects of Smart cop (COMSTAT) was over and therefore no more quota. Otis declared prior to being elected some members of Jerry Browns administration would be given the boot. At first he was very popular with everyone except the diehard Brown supporters. Brown himself cost his election after it was revealed he lied about his college education. In the previous election Brown defeated Hall, who then ran as a Democrat.

As the years went by, Hall became more power hungry. Those who was slated to be axed from the administration were eventually promoted after his 1st reelection. Hall became vindictive and used his power to rid the agency of people that didn't support him.

Halls concept was himself before all others. Being the narcissist he is, his belief was that ALL was supposed to support him and no other, even if your own family member was running. No one could do a damn thing about it. If you had an opposing candidates poltical sign in front of your OWN HOUSE, his tattle tails would report you.

Hall rear ended a school bus with a suspended license. He crashed his house boat into another boat and let one of his Escambia buddies take the fall. He showed up drunk after RJ was shot. At least he did show up. Most of the time he was MIA. He flew off with some woman in a helicopter owned by another agency. He swept porn gate under the rug after giving very minimal disciplinary action. It didn't help that one of his BOYS was the first to get caught and the rest were SWAT, Major Crimes and senior Jail Staff members. He's screwed over several while giving others break after break. Hell even at one time his own wife, a former SRSO employee, had the Nextel contract. Go figure.

As the sheriff his emphasis was getting reelected- NOT running the agency. It was evident that he forgot where he came from because after his 2nd year in office he stopped standing up for the officers. 2007 (?) step increases stopped. The fleet suffored as deputies were forced to drive the cars beyond 200,000 miles.

If anyone thinks Bob is the answer, you are very naive. He is nothing but a yes man turned into wannabe poltician. Bald Guy in a cheap suit. He will be worse. No backbone to the BOCC and just as ruthless to the rank and file.

Say what you want about Way and Roper. I would be willing to address either one as "Sheriff" or "Boss" over Bob any day of the week. Bob is a snake.

The poster that said "Otis covers his tracks" is spot on. It doesn't take a rocket science to know shady shit is going on but unlike Coffman and Brown, Hall has his ducks on a row. He will leave with 100% retirement and state benefits without any repercussions because he picked up the bread crumbs trailing behind him.
