    AID/CAR 1 at it again

Another botch job by them. They kick the door down march up to 6th floor and find out a Deputy working on that floor. Order them to put their hands on the counter and slowly remove there web belt and hand it to them. Prior to this heinous incident they order the booking desk closed and said they would be booking a Deputy in within a few hours. They, after securing this Deputies web belt escort them to a conference room to where they wait for A Captain from AID to arrive. They then begin the questioning. Some Inmate said he knows you are doing drugs while at work. He states you go to the BATHROOM 20 times a day. He knows you are doing drugs. We have reviewed several days of video and you do go to the bathroom a lot. We have seen several times you were in there for about 30 sec. what did u do, the answer was go to the bathroom they then ask do you wash your hands when you to the bathroom? This questioning goes on for a while. They finally end this and leave. AN INMATE CAN SAY WHAY THEY WANT AND AN Outstanding Deputy after 25 years of service with no other incidents gets this treatment. NOT EVEN AN APPOLOGY, anything. What a pathetic way to be treated and what a long lasting memory to savior. Had to cancel the BAYNEWS 9 interview.

Maybe they will blame this one on Lt. C and send her packing back to the jail.

The AID and DIU morons believe everything inmates tell them. Making false allegations against a member should have severe consequences. Nothing will happen to them because the whole administration is corrupt and hates the jail deputies. And Sheriff Gualtieri allows these blatant violations to continue unpunished with his blessings. They are all POS.

Sounds pretty standard for how scheduled interviews go. They went to the deputy, did it during their shift, and all deputies take off their gun belts while being interviewed. I think you made it way more dramatic then it was. But hey, if you didn't it wouldn't sound as bad as you trying to make it. So should they not interview them at work? Because I think the policy says they should try and make it less inconvenient on the subject. Did they drug test the deputy? That would seem to end the argument. Or do you think we are free to work without being investigated ever?

FYI to AID and DIU - inmates have been know to lie to retaliate against jail deputies whom they dislike, probably because they did not allow them to do whatever they want.

Unfortunately Gualtieri picks people for AID based on loyalty not ability and experience. If they screw up they don't get punished as long as they come up with the conclusions which Gualtieri orders. The whole AID is a pathetic joke. It matches Gualtieri's pathetic attempts to act like a LEO sheriff.

The commenters on this post are missing the true issue of who and what they should be concerned about. The highest ranking individual present ( a Law Enforcement Captain) is responsible for the inept and demeaning way a staff member was treated. In the end the member involved was lucky ( he had the years of service to be able to retire). The true concern should be for the civilian, and certified staff that continue to need to work for the agency. This is the best treatment you can expect. How many other members have been treated in this manner? No one monitors the behavior of AID. This is a situation where the case number will never close and therefore will not be subject to public review.

Everyone that reads these comments should consider that AID was prepared to criminally charge this individual on the sole basis that an inmate contacted them.

If an unprejudiced review of the facts had been conducted a number of facts readily available would have shown this to be a false report. The individual in question has called in sick once or twice in the past five years, arrives to work ahead or schedule, has several hundred hours of sick leave accrued, has no discipline on file, and has the respect of co-workers and shift supervisors (obviously no one higher bothers to know their employees). Common sense would tell you there would be red flags in the individuals demeanor and sick leave usage.

Instead AID monitored the bathroom use of the staff member. If the staff investigating had any knowledge of the current inmate population (frequency of quarantine to housing units) an individual using the staff bathroom may have been washing their hands. The officer conducts a minimum of 24 security checks and signs forms handled by inmates. It leaves you to wonder how frequently the individuals involved in this incident use the restroom in a twelve hour period?

Readers of this post should consider how would I have been treated? Most would not have faired as well as this staff member. This is not a jail issue it is an issue for all individuals employed by the PCSO. This is an example of why the agency has staff leave why there is poor morale. Basic dignity and common sense have been replaced by individuals that do not consider anything beyond themselves.

The Captain that headed this incident needs to reflect on his actions, and judgement. At the least I hope any accusation against him would receive likewise treatment.

Did AID shut down Central Booking because they were about to arrest a Dep? If that's the case, why wasn't he arrested? The real problem here is a basic police investigation may suspect that you are doing something criminally wrong, but without PC, you cannot make a legal arrest. Obviously, AID didn't have PC. Getting investigated by AID/ or arrested obviously is not pleasant to go through which is why its so important that AID have their sht together before pouncing!

Wrong incident moron. What about Sgt. S who kicked a suspect while he was face down compliant, then failed to write a use of force and report it immediately to his supervisor. He got caught because someone reviewed the video. 24 hours suspension and a lateral transfer, no loss of rank. If he was a jail deputy he would have been fired and prosecuted.

Perhaps, Car1 should give the jail staff a explanation of what happened, and why. These are the type of things that fester around here and causes a lot of misinformation.

The sad irony is that Gualtieri and his minions always throw around words like "personal responsibility" and "accountability for actions" when it comes to deputies. However the higher ranks such as the ones in IAD are not held to the same standards when they screw up royally, which they did this time. Guaranteed that nothing will happen to them. This makes Gualtieri a hypocrite and a lousy leader.
