The bottom line is: People are just too stupid to figure it out. Let's consider a simple fact; Are you required to pay an extra fee to purchase a vehicle equipped with door locks? I want to understand your point. I can even see where it comes from. I just don't believe you can blame citizens when we know we are not doing the job we should be doing. This agency cares more about destroying our own cops for little violations of policy than attacking crime. It is not fair to ignore we are not going in the right direction. Hiring an employee to do nothing but spy on other employees is not a step in the right direction. It is sad that a portion of our admin decided it was useful to hire a spy to appear they are doing a good job. We have supervisors that can keep the troops in the right direction. Let them do the job they are there to do. Please don't say they aren't doing their job. If that's true they shouldn't be there and it proves EH and his fail everybody on a test theory is flawed. We probably don't have the best supervisors. The blame could be placed many areas for that. The truth remains to be that our admin is lacking. I don't blame the Sheriff. I blame those around him. They are more concerned with keeping you away from the boss than keeping him informed. If they didn't keep you away they would be exposed as being less than capable of doing their job. The Sheriff has the balls to do or say what we need. He just can't get the people who know how to provide good law enforcement related information to him. Then if you add the attorney to the mix you have a perfect storm of a shit show. If the Sheriff would go an entire week and only talk to those who are working and avoid the admin he would not recognize where he works. He would be shocked. A spy isn't the answer. Building a wall around the Sheriff only protect the ones that would be exposed if ever faced with having to make a law enforcement decision. Billboards won't stop crime. Policing only cops won't stop crime. Having strong leaders in admin that support the boots tackling the crime problem head on will reduce crime. Boss......you have to wake up. There are too many people in the race for you to lose. Even if you are not strong you can't lose splitting the vote like its split. Get the spirit of the cops up and show us you are listening. Clean house up there and show us you hear our cry for help. It will cause an uprising of support for you here. This is the place you want the public see supporting you. Stop listening to those who have no clue. Don't be afraid of what it looks like. If you went at the problem hard and fast and put it out that the problem was you admin not the public or the cops you would soar in the public eyes.

Ever think that the wall around Sheriff is constructed by him? The roles the upper echelon is playing is what they have been instructed to do? That is the issue here. He is trying to add a level of protection around him. His aloofness is the problem. If he were to take the initiative to walk with us, then he might have a clue but that's not his goal. He wants to be a politician not a deputy.

You're obviously not a police officer and obviously not too bright. It's the Sheriff not the Deputies who spent taxpayer dollars on "Lock your Door" billboards. The Sheriff who allows the bad guys to get away with his no chase policy. The Sheriff sold our helicopter to Bay county who has a very successful Air Unit and the Sheriff who has promoted half the department so there are not near as many patrol units as there was 20 years ago.

The DEPUTY patrols your street. The DEPUTY protects you possibly putting his/her life in danger, even though he's hated and criticized. The Deputy who puts it all on the line even though his hands are tied. Then when the Deputy does something good, the Sheriff steps into the spotlight and takes the credit. I'm not a Deputy anymore but I appreciate the hell out of y'all that stay and gut it out despite the rough conditions.

When i was in school i must have missed this "right" that affords you protection from thieves because you dont take a second to lock your doors. Which one is it again? A cop on every corner would still have a hard time dealing with this issue.

Obviously you are one or two of the Morgan admin guys that is supporting the lock your door re-elect me Morgan campaign . Your not very bright! Let' me break it down for you. In EIGHT years under Morgan crime rate has remained up! In only one reporting period has the Crime rate in Escambia county been slightly down. "ONE" that's all. Then Morgan spends 130,000 dollars of taxpayers Money on a billboard. Why? Morgan you or Haines can get ready to answer to this one. Has there been a significant decrease in Vehicle Burglaries since the billboards went up? That answer will be determined through Public records request!' Why not spend the money and hire four full time Deputies. Why not put a Burglary task task force together? Everybody knows the real reasons why this wasn't done. 1) it makes logical sense 2) Morgan knows nothing about Policing 3) Morgan doesnt get the Political exposure through real tried and true Policing practices!
