The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments posted in a
courthouse is this: You cannot post "Thou Shalt Not Steal," "Thou Shalt
Not Commit Adultery," and "Thou Shall Not Lie" in a building full of
lawyers, judges and politicians...It creates a hostile work environment.

Some officers at our station believe our DB controls this site. They also believe that whoever the moderator is has access to IP addys and who they belong to and are therefore ready to retaliate against officers via the IA process. Are they being scared little drama queens or is that a real concern.

Nobody in your department controls this Message Board. Actually, I just got rid of one Moderator and am in the process of removing the other who has been MIA for over 6 months now. Moderators do not control the board. The oversee it for me. Ultimately, I control it.

Moderators do not have access to IP addresses. They have not for at least 9 years or so. Long before either of your moderators were moderators. Even with an IP address, the only way to find out who it belongs to is through the ISP. Cable Companies and Wireless providers aren't just handing that information out without a subpoena.

Any more questions, feel free to ask.

You changed the mod and yet still the language and the use of peoples names. Not to mention in the terms it says that if no name that it subject to be taken down. Please look into this.

The use of language is up to the board moderator. The Terms of Use does not ban the use of profanity. The Terms of Use also does not ban the use of names. It is the context in which the name is used that makes the post a violation or not.

It says the posting anonymously when it is not necessary CAN subject the post to being removed.

Then go back and read the trash up there. They are using nasty words and doing it anonymously. Why... read your use terms .
    That is not allowed.
