Today is a good day to refocus our efforts on safety/security and not be distracted by administrative issues. The most qualified candidate should always be promoted regardless of race and gender. We must do our best each day and exceed what is expected of us by our fellow officers and supervisors, not just our own. Just my opinion. Be safe out there.

Very encouraging words. But you either do not work here, or are one of the new recent promotions or new hire. Because if you think what has been described in these post as "administration issues", you do not have a true grasp of how it is to work here. There is no brotherhood here, or any hope for a well qualified officer to simply go out and do a great job and feel they have an opportunity for advancement. But thank you for your wishes of being safe.

This ^^^ is what bothers me most about working here. New officers always seem to do fine for the first couple years even hang out with each other and become friends with each other. The older officers seem to keep a social distance from most others with the exception of maybe a few people they have known & trust for a LONG time. I'm kind of in the middle of the seniority pack but the longer I work here the more I find myself drifting in the direction of keeping a distance. You start to feel burned by people you once trusted and realize its just best to keep your distance and not get caught up in gossip that could come back to bite you. Managment won't promote or put into a speciality unit the cops that seem to know what their doing for general dislike and not being in the right clique, when they do have someone who they like in their clique they ignore the rules THEY set in place to move the person they want. Once they have there mind made up about someone then that person is labeled a certain way forever.

    The New Age

I don't even know what to say about this idiot. Enjoy your new stripes. I'm sure you have all the answers since you are so new and have had such a fabulous and storied career. That's how you ended up here as one of our new and more insightful supervisors. That was probably one of the most moronic post about this place on this website. And sadly it was probably plagiarized from a memo that had handed to you.

    Do Boy

Could not have said it any better. Maybe if that idiot keeps trying, all these posts may eventually move from the top and some poor soul will read that, and think what a great place this is with their master plan. Master plan to turn it over to the HCSO at the rate this command staff is going. Don't get fooled.

If you are a miserable, complaining, malcontent who believes that his or her best just isn’t good enough to be recognized at this department; don’t worry because you’re not alone. You exist in every department throughout this country. My guess is that you could leave this place and in a few short years you’d be on another board spewing the same garbage. Maybe try TPD; I’m sure with your stellar work ethic and positive attitude you’d be promoted in no time flat.

Still not sure what she does but i would bet she is getting the same salary. And then the other person is our new criminal analysts with absolutely no experience. And like we need one. And this same person was so inept as the chief's secretary that he had to get rid of her. So let's create a new position for her as a reward. And then the chief hires someone from the outside to be his new secretary. Now let's talk about the chief's integrity. His new secretary also happens to live in the same condo complex where the chief owns a condo he rents out. And in fact, she is on the condo's board of that very same condo complex. Was this made known during the hiring process? Of course not. Conflict of interest? Absolutely! Check her facebook page and check her friends list. Don't worry if they try to make that go away, it's all been recorded. You can also find all the public record information on the tax collectors and property appraiser's pages recording the properties. All public record. Check it out. But we are just a bunch of stupid minions who work hard everyday but are told that we haven't gone above and beyond. When is the board going to wake up and she what is going on there. Mr l and mr t should open their eyes. Oh wait, all mr l's people, according to a recent story on chanel 10, his executive staff will get between a 7.5 and 10 percent raise each year.

Totally agree about the concisely written assessment and the facts stated. I just hope, and don't want to believe the executive staff at the airport does not know that this is in going on in their police department.
