No doubt uebelacker is vindictive and will stop at nothing to see people he doesn't like fired, I just think it is ironic how turner is now a victim. She is the reason this place got so messed up, why we are in the media for crap that happens every where. It is very hard to be a road cop here, everything we do is picked apart.

If the admin had owned the issues of the past, they wouldn't be coming back to haunt. If more road cops would stand up for themselves and call out the bad cops, your job would get easier and safer. I've heard numerous road cops say it would be career suicide to speak out. Well, the time has come. Either speak out and set yourself apart or be lumped in with the bad cops that you've been too afraid to expose.

Let us get something clear here the problem was not with Melanie, she just tried to fit in and belong. Melanie is a combat Veteran unlike most if not all admin. She had service connected issues, which should have been addressed by admin, either with VA or private counseling.
She willingly participated, but was lets say was used by certain supervisors. Is she a victim, absolutely without a doubt. She was used and discarded. Admin was aware of what was transpiring and ignored it. Then the arrest, the false arrest, which directly led to Ricci's suicide Ricci was a good guy, had PTSD and wanted to resign, but Vespia talked him out of it, and how did that work out,, Ricci is dead. .No one is blaming the street cop here, it is the piss poor management and lack of accountability by admin. No one knew up until a year ago, the chief had only a GED and was not a military Veteran in the context he wanted you to believe he was. He is trying to preach things have changed, he is right, they have gotten worse and no one thought that rock bottom had a lower level. He is dishonest and lacks integrity, he is uneducated and a proven liar.He has zero ethics. He now surrounds himself with allegedly educated men, monkey in the middle theory. His theory, surround himself with educated people and then it appears he is smart, just heard a gong go off there. Some of his friends he hired are as ignorant as he is. I don't think she committed a crime and her arrest was totally out of line, it was done to keep the media at bay, we all know that. Admin knew the Sheriff was going to make arrests and unprofessionally decided to stay away. It could of and should of been handled better. Why wasn't the on duty Sergeant, who seems to skate on everything he does not written up. It is his responsibility to know where his men are. He knew of the party and usually attends them.
You are either a favorite or a peon at the NPPD and if your a peon, plan ahead for your future employment, sooner or later they will target you. As they say it is safer on the street than in Police HQ.

my recollection is that she did not refuse to talk to internal affairs, I believe she was accused of lying to them, a charge she was cleared of, she did not voluntarily resign, with all she went thru, the false accusations, Ricci suicide, the media and all this and this is already on top of her ongoing issues. it was resign or be fired, resign and you have a chance for a career, get fired your screwed. Now, since you obviously never served, or maybe you were a driver/radio operator in the Rhode Island National Guard, she was a military police officer, they have served in combat zones since at least Panama, escorting convoys, prisioners etc, serving in a combat zone as a combat MP makes you a Combat Vet. So as a military police officer she was in Combat zones long before it became fashionable. What sets a combat police person apart from a lets say GED, I took the test cop, experience, real experience not textbook or being instructed by some wanna be warrior who would like you to believe he was a warrior. If you had any experience with FFDE you would know it is all one sided, what the admin wants, sort of like the center for police management report, keep adjusting the reports until the Chief gets what he wants. The public needs to be protected, well if that were the case who would be chief, who would be assistant chief, both obviously have there flaws which are well documented,. Shouldn't we be protected from them???? The FFDE is a tool used by admin to weed out who they don't want and cannot get any progressive discipline on. It allegedly circumvents the just cause in the CBA, but in reality, really does not. Hope this puts your mind a ease
