It appears that the Sheriff and his staff have been quietly trying to extend the DROP for a select group in order to prevent a huge shortfall of deputies in the summer. How many are required to leave in JULY? 150? 250? How are you going to stagger the departures legally or should I say without a legal challenge? Seems you have been running short staffed and using the money to pay for the salaries of the over inflated egos of the administration. As usual Sheriff dumb ass is ill prepared to run anything except his NY mouth!

Nice try. where do you get your numbers from? 150 -250???? REALLY>>?? there are maybe 30 that have to leave by then. FROM ALL DEPARTMENTS DOD/FIRE/DLE/ ADMIN. by the way, DROP is a state program. if the sheriff finds a loophole it applies to everyone. read the DROP guidelines. ANYONE can come back after 6 months with a penalty or in 12 months with no penalty. that year goes by pretty fast when you are having fun. no need to EXTEND DROP with this.

Total fiction. State law doesn't allow DROP to be extended for anyone. You work beyond your DROP end date under state law, you forfeit your DROP money. Nobody is asking anyone to do that.

Yes, this is true. Most of these heros went into DROP just before of wonderful leader Mr Scott changed DROP interest rate. Their plan was to go at least 33 years then DROP. it's called greed.

No, not true. And Israel cannot change any DROP rates. That is set by FRS and the state. Again, another comment by someone who knows nothing about working at BSO or in the FRS system. And Israel has not been bringing back people who DROP in FRS.
