When she first began, she was the tip of the SSO’s news-media spear. She was always out there, talking to the media and being filmed on SNN, etc. But that was then and this is now. Then she got too important and during a budget crunch, we went from one full-time media person (Wendy) to hiring several (too many). And then Wendy stopped being the tip of the news-media spear and she started “delegating” that crap to others for many reasons:

1. First, it is too embarrassing trying to explain some of the crap in our agency to the media (and Knight and Hoffman were pushing it down her throat).

2. Second, she got tired of answering a billion non-stop media email inquiries (and she found out it’s all PERMANENTLY documented).

3. She lost credibility with many reporters becuase she consistently refused to give them the scoop. She always tried to explain to them that she couldn't give it (at least not right now)... but she never followed up (after delaying the scoop)... she she lost credibility the zillionth time she did that.

4. She got to be too important to be the tip of the spear.

5. She started butting heads with Knight and she got tired of trying to make the devil (Knight) look like an angel to the media. Wendy was forced to deal with reality (media inquiries) while Knight was singing Dixie in la la land on the 2nd floor.

6. Leoaffairs actually made her job harder because she couldn’t make Knight look like an angel when SSO employees are suing him and are talking smack about him and are complaining non-stop about an ongoing knightmare on the 2nd floor.

7. Reality struck!

I heard it was jealousy because her hubby is a captain at VPD and knight hates Venice because they arrested him and fired his brother back in the day. Knight is nuts and got paranoid about all she knows and didn't want an outside agency to catch wind of all the garbage here, so he made her go bye-bye, but it is only a lost for us. Everybody knows that "back in the day" VPD officers arrested Tom Knight for getting into a sloppy-drunk bar fight (for disorderly conduct), but I didn't know that Tom's brother (Chris Knight) was also fired by them?

Tom claims that the VPD officers didn't have PC to arrest him, but the VPD officers beg to differ. If there was no PC for arrest, then Tom could have sued VPD for false arrest, but he didn't because he couldn't legally do so! However, he still seems to have a seething hatred for anything dealing with VPD.

The bottom line is that Tom Knight doesn't like her or her media advice because she told him the facts.

Sheriff Tom Knight described two incidents he had with Rose that caused him concern. The first incident involved a marijuana legalization forum, which Knight decided to attend, but then skipped. Knight indicated that Rose's reaction to him [skipping the forum] was inappropriate [because] 'it made you look bad to the media'.

Why did Knight abruptly skip the forum, after he publicly told everyone that he would be present? Answer: Because he doesn't have hard answers to give to media questioning on-the-fly! So instead, Knight left Wendy hanging to answer for him and to explain his unexpected absence. Wendy subsequently called Knight on it and it royally pissed him off. Imagine that: Knight being pissed off at others for his own actions!

The second incident involved Rose contacting Knight's wife to [help] make changes to an opinion column that Knight had written.

Wendy was just doing her job, which she was paid to do.

Knight "expressed concern that [Rose's] leadership style may be negatively impacting this workforce."

Mr. Knight (the pot) is accusing the kettle of being black!!! LOL
