Where was FHP on the MLK Holiday?

Once again the Florida Highway Patrol demonstrated it is only a shell of it's former self during the thug takeover on the interstates in Miami-Dade and Broward counties. As many as a hundred or more motorcycle, ATV and dirt bike riders, some armed, terrorized motorists and pedestrians on this day dedicated to peace, the once proud FHP was no where to be seen.

It is only a matter of time, perhaps next year if not before, before these thugs take or cause a human life to be lost. It is also probably safe to say that eventually an armed civilian, in fear for his/her life or that of a loved one, will take matters into their own hands and then the real fun will begin. Where is the leadership ad direction that once made the FHP such an effective and proud agency? There is hopefully a year to prepare for the next adventure; will the FHP will ready or again hide in the shadows?

I don't disagree entirely with the post, however it should not be presnted just to FHP. The riders did not just stay on the interstates in those counties, which was evident as they went through intersections with traffic lights which don't exist in the interstate. So if you want to ask "where was FHP?" Then the question should also be "Where were the city cops and the county deputies?" I agree it was a spit in the face of law enforcement and the entire public when they rode as they did. The law enforcement community needs to come up with a plan on how to combat the issue. Because the riders won't stop if you attempt to pull them over. Then what? You can't pit or spoke the bikes. I know I wouldn't want to pull one over and have him stop, then I have to worry about all 300 of his boys coming up on my 6. No thanks.

    Give It a Rest

Let's put this topic to rest and answer this once-and-for-all: the FHP-like many other law enforcement agencies-took the hands off approach to deal with the madness. You must not be a police officer, or else you would know that there is TOO MUCH risks invovled with dealing with illegal operators. If we give chase and an innocent driver is struck and killed: the department and officer(s) involved will be hung out to dry. The "ghetto lottery" is alive and well in this society. FHP does not have nearly enough troopers to deal with the large influx of bike riders. Agencies like Miami Gardens Pd and Miami-Dade Police were able to arrest some folks and impound some bikes. FHP still had to serve the function of responding to crashes in a timely manner. If you want to chase over 100 ATVs by yourself and risk being sued because someone died, then be my guest. You cannot FHP today to FHP years ago when policing in general was about pro activity, kicking ass, and taking names. The country, the President, the politicians want the thugs to run the streets; so be it.

Yup. Let's allow everyone to go wild and act like a bunch of apes because we are afraid to get sued. It's a sad state of affairs going on here.

Good news is Tally didn't fire anybody for doing nothing. Trooper's are only at risk if they enforce the law.

Hey bigot, apes don't ride bikes. They are very docile animals. Kinda like those terrorists that held up the federal building out west.

Whoa, don't get your panties in a bunch there cupcake. You're pretty quick to accuse people of racism aren't you. You need to learn the difference between a simile and a metaphor. The poster said that they were acting LIKE a bunch of apes, not that they were a bunch of apes. Big difference. If I said that you are acting like a 3rd grader, does that mean that I am saying that you are a 3rd grader? No, it means that I am criticizing your behavior. Acting like a bunch of apes or acting like a bunch of monkeys are common terms that aren't necessarily intended as a racist term but are sometimes interpreted as such by overly sensitive people looking for something that isn't there. Now, carry on and stop acting LIKE a race baiter.

No need to justify your bigotry. That was a racist statement and the intention of this thread is racist. Dam kids (in groups) race up and down the roadways everyday and I don't hear anyone saying a word or calling them apes and monkeys. So don't lecture me about metaphors etc. I love you clowns that are obsessed with the new words for hiding behind your hatred for others. Oh, those new terms are "race baiter," "thugs," "trying to divide us," and so on. Now you carry on BIGOT!

Why are your panties so bunched up? Nobody called anybody an ape or a monkey. Like I said, you need to learn the difference between a simile and a metaphor. You are so focused on trying to find a conspiracy that will make you a victim, you are losing your ability to think rationally. Stop with the racialist BS already.
