    True the OP should probably relax but we aren't other agencies looking to call for an eval. That email never should have been sent. People are sick of the look at me look at me crap that goes on around here.

    You may not like him and he should have put the reason for his work phone # in the email so there was no misunderstanding. Other than that, the guy puts in a lot of extra work and effort for the job and deserves his position.

    This place will never get it right on fixing the morale issue. Sure, some will never be happy, but for the majority and anyone that has taken business class 101, will know that the number one reason people are unhappy at their job is because their immediate supervisor. There are some poor ones here, and they always seem to promote them, that no one wants to work for. They have poor personal relationship skills. That is a deal breaker and a morale killer.

    Extra "work and effort" should not substitute for competence.

    Give him a certificate not a promotion.
