Glad to hear things have improved down south. God knows you guys needed the change. As far as response times do not manipulate anything. I would say it's similar to the Miami Beach scandal a few years ago in which guys were manipulating closures on cases. The command staff will not stand up and say it was them who ordered it to be done. If that is the policy then let them put it as a district directive or SOP. Until then remember it's your call not theirs. Do what you feel is appropriate.

State if your district has ordered you to do the following:

If your response time to a priority call is over 8 mins they want you to change it to a routine signal, even if it's a no report.

Ex: 3-41 takes you 10 mins to arrive. Change signal to routine 41, no report 09.

The purpose of this is not to have a priority call over 8mins & shows as a quick response on the cad for a routine call.

I remember having the dispatchers telling us if it's a no report we do not change the original dispatched signal. So much for following procedures.

It's called cooking the numbers!!!!...Usually happens when politicians want to become re-elected and they want to look efficient and reliable on the eyes of the public. Usually ranks from Major and above try to satisfied that political need for their own chance to become higher than the rank they currently hold. Many times called sucking crank, or racking the mayors yuke.
