Why some many Suspensions and Restricted Duties at the Main Jail?

What's going on Sheriff at your Main Jail facility? Why are so many of your employees on restricted duty and or suspended? Maybe you should inquire with your experienced Detention Command and find out why is this happening so frequently? Good Luck with that one....

I am sure the Sheriff can get the missing in action Captain IG to give him answers. This is the worse ever for suspensions and staff under investigations.

    The Answer

Months in advance, it was reported cameras were coming. When the cameras went live, there were numerous warnings: do your job, don't document something that did not happen, use force responsibly, conduct yourself professionally, etc, etc.

The folks that don't care to listen until they get jammed up have also sucked their coworkers into their foolishness.

This too shall pass when enough people get fired or suspended and the rest of the idiots fall in line. Do your job and be professional. Out

.....but why do we have the same repeat offenders and why does it always take years on most cases to discipline these people?

Some of these idiots have been on the "Last chance ranch" since the day that they were hired! For others, it's the state of the society that we now live in. A shitbag's word will always be taken for the truth. Just look at the Michael Brown case. The entire country bought the "Hands up Don't shoot" lie, when both eye witnesses and forensic evidence proved that his hands were not up!! Make it to retirement and get the f*&k out!!!!!!!!

It boils down to the supervisors. Many supervisors only see what they want to see. They refrain from taking action, because so much time is involved in documenting violations, exhausting progressive disciplinary procedures, then initiating a formal IA case. This is very time consuming, it can take many months, and depending on the circumstances of the incident or what performance issues are in question, many just get a slap on the wrist.

Another issue may be those employees transferring to another command where the process starts over due to a lack of communication.

As a sergeant, my worse enemy is the indifferent sergeant that for whatever reason refuses to hold people accountable for doing their jobs.

    ****roaches

Now that the lights are on (cameras) the ****roaches are getting squashed one by one, as there is no where to hide.

Be patient road patrol, the same phenomena will occur when your cameras go live. There will be an increase of investigations and restricted duty, so bring over some more sergeants and get ready IA.

After most of the turds get flushed, things will get back to normal. Carry on maggots!
