    10? That's a high estimate. I say it's closer to 4.

Post #21 makes a great point --> the PBA cooks numbers (and other things.)

Suncoast PBA, your dirty laundry is hanging out.

The insurance industry preys on people's fears to get them to buy policies. Same with union dues. Chief Holloway likes having the PBA sell you a bill of goods, officers are so much easier to control. He knows the ropes.

What strengths did you bring from Massachusetts? Answer: "The biggest strength is working with the unions.")

The District Attorney in Massachusetts thumped Holloway's deal with the union, issuing a stern warning to Holloway that his dirty cop continued to be a liability in court. (sheilacunningham-ism)

    Business as usual

When a former St Pete mayor had the solid backing of the black community, he boldly/unfairly/wildly tilted the scale in favor of black police officers. Good for them, but it created so much constant turmoil that no one wanted to work here.

The current mayor has the backing of the LGBT community. The outcome is predictable.

Asst Chief Bevan and PBA boss Markus Hughes are in it for themselves. Look at the officers they've recruited to build the mayor's political power base. Look at the so-called "training" they designed which in truth was political showmanship. The face recognition brain fart, jockeying to control the PBA, on and on . . .

Chief Holloway's just a highly paid token. Black is out, rainbow is in. Fairness? An end to political cut-throating? Hah! abandon all hope. It's worse than ever.

    What post # 28 said.

They all got bitten by the fame bug. Kriseman was relatively ignored as a state Rep., then he got hooked on all that mayoral campaign media coverage, and he can't stop, he's a 24-hr publicity machine. In Clwr the chief never got more than a mention or two in the media, then he comes to St. Pete and he's an ADHD headline grabber. Mel got used to being onstage when she ran for chief and got addicted to the high. Markus, well he was a great officer and sgt., then he got seduced by the limelight. For some people the moral compass starts spinning out of control and they lose sight of true north. A little power with a heaping dose of publicity does it. No one loves them more than their own bathroom mirror.

    About the PBA facebook glop.
Good that they warned us United Way skims off 12% of our payroll donations.
Bad that they used PBA resources to plug Sun Coast LE Charities Inc. Two nonprofits under one roof leads to co-mingling of funds and sloppy accounting. SCLEC needs its own facebook/website with some financial accountability/transparency, like this -> http://www.policeunitytourviii.org/page-438551
Not like this, which tells donors to send money to a nameless PO box in St. Pete -> https://www.facebook.com/wcfcops/info?tab=page_info

Lastly, the ludicrously ineffective boycott of Quentin Tarantino's movie as a cheap substitute for union support of Sun Coast PBA members.
