I heard there were a bunch of cowards on here crying because the acting Sergeant was holding them to reasonable standards, so I had to come see what all the baby crying was about. When a man gets given a mission to lead a team and he does it to the best of his ability, and some idiot cry baby punks want to drag him down, you know they are scared to death of doing their job and they're scared to say it to his face. So what if he wants to take advantage of the opportunity to show his skills and his ability to lead troops? What the hell do you care?! Just do what you're told...what he took extra steps to make sure you clearly understand...and do it with a smile. Instead of whining behind his back, why don't you stand behind him and help to show that people who take initiative and who care about doing a good job actually get promoted to permanent Sergeant?! If you have a disagreement with his leadership style, then be a MAN and meet him in person so you can share your sensitive feelings and explain how you're too weak and insecure to follow a leader.

There goes our union rep swinging a bat for management again. He blows as much smoke here as he does when he's chain-smoking out the back door of the station.
Guess again, Blubba http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/...areer-down-if/

This list is dead so who cares anyway. Hopefully a new test will be ready by next summer. Until then expect at least nine open sergeants spots with no active promotion list when the chief lets it die in February.

Bull. The new list sets in motion a political takeover. It's not about policing excellence. It's about cronyism and seeding the turf. It's no coincidence the mayor is presiding over the very public nuptials of the p b a 's 2nd in command in downtown St Pete the same week as http://www.saintpetersblog.com/archives/246502
Quietly, secretly, some officers have been sent for specialized training and educational opportunities on the department's dime to make them promotion worthy. It's about this http://patch.com/florida/stpete/rick...ong-mayor-hand
