No raise for School Board PD

The school district have rejected a proposal set by Miami Dade School Board Union for their police officers to receive a salary pay increase. The plan was for the school district to reward Miami Dade School PD 3% raise every fiscal year for its officers. The union demanded 5% pay increase but they were rejected until further notice. According to a representative from the school district, they plan to renegotiate with the Union next fiscal year. A member of the school district who want to be kept anonymous stated that they don't want to offer resource officer more than 3% pay increase knowing that they don't have a specialized unit to offer extended service to that school system. Miami Dade School Board officers doesn't carry a radar gun for traffic nor do they carry a taser if they have to apprehend a defiant student. School police does not generate revenue for their department instead they rely on outside agency for assistance. The school district is considering shutting down the school police department and hire Miami Dade County PD and local jurisdictions to take care of the problems the schools are dealing with.

I found it disgusting the other day a 333 goes out at a school in North side and the dispatcher raised for a school board unit....cricket cricket...after QSY to headquarters no response...five minutes later six units 06 and two take 59s ..then 810 gets on and says all units are tired up.....??? Get the F- out here..county ends up handling..a 333 with subject on scene....so "F" your raise if you not going do nothing but, be armed security guards

in all fairness to the kiddie cops they don't know how to handle a 3-33 and you wouldn't really want such clowns ad imbeciles handing such a sensitive type case so be glad they didn't respond but come to think about it school board doesn't even know how to take a 19 so no surprise. are you clowns even allowed to handle felonies or just food fights and pencil fighting. you guys want a raise...gimme a break

Well, the only two unions that matter to the SBAB have now agreed on raises UTD and AFSCME. So sick of the disrespect and how the union does business. Sad.

First off, School PD handles their business. Just like any other agency we have our slugs too. We get into more hand to hand situations than any other department. Some of the best County guys come from School Board PD.

Handle their business...like the school officer that was "handling" his wiener and was masturbating at the school on the news? What do school board handle? The agency is a waste of tax payer money and should be shut down and handed back to the county and local police agencies.
Yes, every department has its slugs, but there seems to be a higher concentration of lazy, incompetent and useless slugs at school board PD.
It's funny to watch school board play police and show up at our scenes...wanting to help but not realizing they are just in the way. Go take a perimeter point or put up crime scene tape (that's the yellow plastic roll used to mark crime scenes), if you know how or just ask one of our PSAs.😂

You sir are right on. More hand to hand situations? That is hilarious. I know a few school board cops, they don't do shit. They don't know shit. Shut them down and let us work the schools, it will be a vacation
