Congrats to that 1 officer promoted yesterday. A fine example of why we need to rethink the way we promote. This guy is by far one of the laziest officer this department has. What message does that send the new guys? Guess they can take a 45min meal break, 1 hour to clear the 15 on a 25A & get far. Piece of work this guy is.

Only promote the top 50, have a test re-take once the list is used up. This lets keep promoting until we hit the bottom of the 100+ person list is such shit. people who just showed up and christmas tree bubbled the scantron will get promoted with this current system.

Not a bad idea. I would make it top 30 for sgt, top 10 for Lt, and top 3 for Capt. But unless you can come up with a cost effective test taking method then the county won't do the test multiple times a years. I'm sure the site the couty picks is not cheap. Imagine having to do it multiple times a year.

For all you math majors out there. If 600 people sign up to take the test and you promote 120, you promoted the top 20%.
